Well CCFans as this year is winding down and us Northern Hemisphere owners are starting the task of putting our CC's to sleep for the winter, I've had several of you ask me about when St. Johns was gonna be. So here is the official thread of the River Ruckus.

Looking ahead at the calendar for next year it's looking like the best weekend for this is going to be March 18-20. DaylIght savings starts the weekend before and Easter weekend is the week after so it's looking like this is going to be the weekend to do it unless we wanna get into April but that is pretty close to the White Lake Mini.

The Sunnyland Boat show is the same weekend so those that wish to go to that can do so. Last year we had several boats head to the show via the Ocklahawa River. It was quite the journey as it included trailering the boats to a state park, launching, navigating thru the river which included one lock and two lakes but the end result was going thru the Dora Canal then pulling right up to the boat show. It was a lot of fun so a repeat of that can be done or CCFans can just do whatever they want.

In keeping with SJRR tradition...."The Plan is......There is No Plan". We are going back to simple roots of how this mini started and having only a "Bring What Y'all Brought" cookout on Sat night. Nothing fancy just keeping it simple as it has been expressed to me by many of regular attendees that everyone just wants to hang out with one another ON THE WATER!.

I would guess that Parramores will continue to be ground central as it has everything we need to hold an event like this. To you newcomers Parramores has cabin rentals, RV slots, tent camping, and a restaurant that serves a mean breakfast. Look at past SJRR's for recaps of what goes on down there. Miles and Miles of smooth water for the taking,(minus a few gators here and there) Manatees if you're lucky, birdlife, springs, but best of all LOUD BOATS!

Pipe up and let your thoughts about dates etc known here. This is an event for EVERYONE so bring what ya got but leave the tube at home as this is NOT a tube friendly event. Gators have been known to attack defenseless tubes so best keep them at home. We want as many people to attend as possible and to get away from old man winter for our extreme Northern friends so if this weekend doesn't work for you then speak now or forever hold your peace.

Farmer family is definitely in! Dates look good for us. Will need a cabin this year since we sold the RV and bought a trailer. Haven't figured out yet how to tow a trailer and boat legally at the same time!

Well it's on our calendar but we won't know for sure until we get closer if we can actually pull off an entire week. This may be just the opportunity to get my 88 year old dad his boat ride in the Hurricane so we're really going to try to get down there.

now THAT will be an awesome moment. Alan, I promise to stay as far away from the hurricane from now until then as humanly possible. 12,000 miles is the best I can do.

Gonna do my best to make this trip. maybe I'll see if Lewy wants to tag along. the day after st pats is rough, if I'm gonna be in the country that day I may have to be in Cleveland. lot of time between now and then to decide.

Ha Don't worry about it Adam just get Lewy and yourself down here. I owe Mark a ride anyway.

As for Mom and Dad, last time we were down with the Hurricane they had just moved to Sarasota but we just couldn't get them to the River, the boat wasn't finished anyway so it really didn't matter. .   This time around they will be staying with my sister in Orlando as they are searching for a permanent residence in the Mt Dora area. I would imagine there won't be many more opportunities to get them out on the boat so I need to make this happen.   Dad has been around boats his entire life but hasn't stepped foot on one since they moved down south a few years ago, Not much makes him happier than being around the water.

In speaking with Lori at Paramores (386) 749-2721 she is willing to consider a 10% discount if we can commit to sites they will look to offer a 10% discount if you mention the CCFAN event

I'm sensing a spectacular event in the making. Can't wait!

And I've got another plan in the works to take up a full week, (hopefully the week prior) in case any other adventurous souls want to do something similar to what several of us did last year which was a quick trip down to Key West and some boating there. But I'm thinking CC's and the river this time.................... .

Greg, did you discuss with Lori about your dogs staying there as well. I know Gary's had his dog at the cottage right next to the office for the last two years. And she sheds worse than a Golden! And you'll regret it if you leave on Sunday

I did speak with Lori about the animals - she said not a concern and was happy to collect the pet fee . Right now our plan is to be in Florida for the week visiting Sue's folks in New Smyrna Beach prior to heading over to Paramores - perhaps things may be adjusted a bit when you disclose your plan.....
I know how Monday's go......usually the best days but work will be calling and I need to be at White Lake the following month. Sick day perhaps?

Okay Boat Buds just a quick update on the Ruckus. I called Parramores yesterday to make sure that we had the Rec Room reserved for Sat nights cookout and to get a empty count.

As of 11-21-2015 Parramores has 10 cabins available for the weekend of March 18-20. Lori said that when you call to reserve your cabin to let them know you are a member of Correct Craft Fan and you'll get a 10% discount off the rental. For those of you bringing the RV down do the same thing and I imagine she'll give the same on a RV slip. I was told that boat slips are on a first come first serve basis but there are always issues with it once you get there.
Working on a few extras as we speak including a newly designed Correct Craft Fan River Ruckus T-shirt. As we get closer to this CCFan kickoff event we'll start the list of whose coming, bringing what, blah, blah, blah.

Kapla......come on back brother. We'd love to have you fly up. You've got plenty of notice to make it happen.

As Reid previously mentioned and is always the case with every CCFan Mini throughout the year. Better plan on staying til Monday if you can swing it.

March won't get here soon enough as a few of you I talked to the last couple days, have already seen the white stuff on the ground and I ain't talking about cotton.

Okay CCFans, the New Year is here and we are half way into January so it's time to stir up this thread again. I hope that you all are recovered from the holiday and are in ..."I gotta start exercising cause ski season is around the corner" mode. Some of you including myself are in gotta get moving on the boat repair as River Ruckus will soon be here.

That being said I've gotten to work on this years River Ruckus T-Shirts ( well Action Screen has) and the proofs of the new look are awesome. Tweaking a few things on the design but I know all will be thrilled with the shirts this year. Seems a few CCFans will be making a week long visit to the area so those of you who can extend the Ruckus a couple days early then I would encourage you to do so. Seems that St Pattys Day is on Thursday so why not celebrate the day with your Boat Buds, Green Boats, and Green Libations. Make it happen if you can!

The CCFans I've talked/texted to are getting pumped, excited, and are itching for March to get here so get off the frozen couch and start planning on attending. I will start asking in a couple weeks about whose coming, whatcha bringin for the cookout, and how many shirts are ya wanting and what sizes ya need as I GUARANTEE you are gonna want one and once they are gone............they are gone!

Therefore to spicen up the thread a bit and to knock ol' Man Winter in the teeth....Here's a teaser portion of the shirt to get you off the fence and get fired up for 2016 St. Johns River Ruckus!

Okay CCFans........ so we are about 6 weeks away from River Ruckus and the shirt artwork is done and as mentioned above it has taken on a whole new look from the shirts from SJRR's past. Action Screen did an outstanding job again coming up with the new design. Thanks to the River Ruckus Sponsors ( I still have a few spots available so PM me if you're interested) I am pleased to announce that each member with a Screen name IN ATTENDANCE will receive this limited edition River Ruckus T-Shirt for running down the St. Johns. Extra shirts for the Wife, Girlfriend, Kids will be available for purchase for $10. ALL proceeds from the sale of Shirts will go directly to Keith for use in maintaining this site which we all use and cherish. We use the site to schedule events like this so its the right thing to do to support it with a few bucks.

Need to start piping in on what you're bringing for the cookout on Sat Night at the Rec Hall. As always we will have the grill to cookup what you've brought. Time to get rolling on this as it will be here before you know it. I advise to stay until Mon if you can and plan on coming down on Thursday and we'll have a grand ol St. Patty's Day celebration to start the weekend complete with GREEN BEER! I'm pumped for this event as I know many are as well. Lets kick Ol Man Winter out for good and have ourselves a good ol' RIVER RUCKUS!

Good news / Bad news. Good news is that our house in Concord has sold and we are moving to Badin Lake. Bad news is the move will be happening during the SJRR so we are out of this event.

I will float this out that if those heading to White Lake need a stop off point along the way or simply want to get some water time in I will gladly open up the lodge. Could be a good opportunity for some Buckethead practice.........

This was not really in the works but in looking at the cash outlay for 2 places we simply have to give this a fair shot. The commute for Sue will suck. My commute will be pretty good as I have more opportunity to work from home. I will need to find someone local that likes to ski at breakfast and lunch.......hopefully this will not be an issue.

Twins in College, and Emily is travelling to Europe for the Spring break. Well sorry to see that Greg can not attend! I was looking forward to seeing you, meeting your wife and introducing mine!
I will have to work on the food prospects and notify. Perhaps a ham.
In attendance will be yours truly, 3 boys and Debbie. Shirts; L. 3 M, and a S. If available I would take 3 more M to ship to the girls! Total of 8 shirts. Looking forward to seeing all! Jbear and Eddie??

Bad new first - Our plans have changed a bit since hearing more about the Zika virus and Zoe being pregnant. I know it's an extreme long shot she would be infected but honestly, it's not worth the risk at this point.

Good news - Picture Pat and I have to be in Orlando the 16-17th and possibly the 21st with nothing to do that weekend!

Hope to see everyone in a few weeks!

Don't blame you on that Chris.... Hate that Zoe & Maddox won't be making the trip but with this crazy Zika virus going on I'd do the same thing and leave them at home where its safe. Why risk it? There will be future River Ruckusses when the virus is gone.

So we have............

morfoot       17-21      Lrg     Carrot Cake & Coconut Cake

PicturePat                    18-20     L                    TBD
jackiedeen +1               18-20     XL, M            TBD

So where is everybody else at? I know we've got more coming. I gotta get #'s for shirt orders so Action Screen can get them ready for the event. Y'all get off the dock and speak up. Who's joining in on The Ruckus?

Glad to see this thread finally moving a bit. Just a reminder to all that haven't booked lodging yet, that Parramores is knocking off 10% if you mention that you are a member of Correct Craft Fan.

Bill we might drive boats to the show on Friday through the Lakes, Canals and Locks if enough people show interest in doing so. Look at last years http://correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=34671&PN=9&title=sjrr-2015" rel="nofollow - SJRR 2015 pics for more insight on the Canal Run to Dora. We had a great time and got back to Parramores way late but the Smithfamily stepped up and had everything cooked and waiting on us when we got back. Don't wanna throw Jerry under the bus again so Friday was the day to do this.

Keep the attendee list coming guys! Gonna be a Ruckus to Remember!

I’m in – would like to bring a boat but with the motor out of the truck and me with some work traveling to do between now and then we will be flying in and looking to bum rides wherever we can get them. We will be in northern Florida on the 12th and probably in Astor by the 17th Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

I went a few years ago with the rest of my fam. College classes have had me tied up for the last few years, but taking the semester off so I have time for fun things again. Probably just for the Silver Glen day...? To be determined. I don't really have a CC at the moment so I might just bring my fishing boat or bum a ride. Not really sure what I'm doing but would like to come for at least a day. Maybe ya'll can give me some input on what day I should come.

Jake, if you're gonna make the event and only gonna come one day then my suggestion would be Saturday. Running the St. Johns, Out to the Silver Glen on Sat will probably be on the to do list and be the day that we all head out there provided thats what the gang wants to do. Plus the cookout is Sat night so you won't wanna miss that with all the good food thats abound and always in surplus. Bring a boat if you want but don't feel that it is necessary. Usually plenty of empty seats available on a Correct Craft so just bring yourself if thats the route you wanna go.

That being said and less than a month away and the list of attendees is pretty small. Gotta get these shirts ordered so if you are attending and wanting one you'd better pipe up in the next week or you're gonna be left in the swamp without one. reidp, jbear, backfoot100,Godfather......y'all coming or what???? The word on the street and a baby Croc told me that a surprise visit and first time SJRR attendee, Uncle Todd will be joining the Ruckus.

The Ruckus is coming so don't get left out! Get off the snowbank and head south for some river running and busting the rust off those joints cause ski season for most of us is almost here!

Better late than never, but I am all in. I will arrive early Friday AM with my boat. I will leave very early Monday AM. I am booked at Parramores and just incase anyone is on the fence there is 1 one bedroom cabin remaining. It is "BEAVER" on the water. It was very tempting to take it just to be able to say all weekend that I am staying " IN BEAVER " all weekend. Probably only CQ will get that joke.

There maybe other cabins available, but I was only asking about those. I did not ask about multiple bedrooms.

I'm trailering our bigger boat down and launching it a little south of Jacksonville on the St. Johns, and along with several others signed up above, we're gonna stroll down the river with what looks to be 3 boats so far.   We'll be staying at several pre-determined places on the river which offer accommodations along with food and beverages. Currently we're planning to stop over at Green Cove Springs, Palatka, and Welaka, and then float into Astor sometime on Thursday. If anyone else is interested just speak up and we'll post some more details.

Ok River Gators.....It's March 1st and we are about 2 weeks away from Fans descending on the beautiful St. Johns River to kick off the 2016 ski season for most of us. Parramores as of yesterday afternoon had a total of 5 cabins left. Two, one bedroom cabins, one 4 bedroom and 2 two bedroom cabins. RV and tent slots still available if your're roughing it. T-shirts will be ordered around 10am today so if you're wanting one you'd better speak up now. Need to start nailing down what you're bringing to the cookout if you haven't piped up as of yet. Primarily something to eat off of and utensils to do it with.

The Ruckus is almost here!

Does anyone have anything they are wanting to sell? Maybe we can do a little swap meet on Saturday afternoon before or during the cookout?

I have some parts from an 84 nautique( seat frames, step pads, lift rings, and a few other misc items) and a love seat for a 200 sport.

I also have a 1995 trailer I need to sell. Needs work but is solid.

Just a small update on the Ruckus...... Shirts have been ordered and they look Fantastic. In talking with Alan we decided to order a few extra so even if you don't make the event there will be a limited # of extras that you can purchase for $10 a piece +S &H, Ya gotta be there and be a site member to get it for nothing so just plan on attending.

Members have contacted me with desires to head to the Glenn Springs so we'll probably do that on Sat for a bit. Skiing always on the menu on the river so count on that too.

Talked to Les Todd this morning to give him the heads up so he and HOF wife Cindy will hang out with us a bit. Art says he's busy all weekend as his plate over runneth but he'll be there but without the 61. Art said he was in for the Ocklawaha River Run on Fri and would probably just meet us at the ramp. All we can do now is hope for sunny skies and smooth water...... Those on the list need to figure out what it is your bringing Sat so we can make suggestions. Big thing is plates, utensils and Napkins........ I think most everyone has there own beverage of choice with them but if someone wants to bring a case or two of water we'll use it for sure to rehydrate from the days events.

Better get to waxing em up guys..... In two weeks from Yesterday we'll be having us a good ole St. Johns River Ruckus with a few of us starting a few days earlier.

Wait - you're buying a new boat and NOT bringing it up?! That's no fun!

Tim - does the Friday trip lead to the wood boat show? I haven't experienced this trip yet but am more than willing to be extra ballast for someone with an open seat.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week!

Chris and any interested parties. While in keeping with SJRR tradition of the plan is there is no plan, BUT it has been asked to repeat this trip down the Ocklahawa River as part of the Ruckus. Rodney Hubbard found it searching the maps and suggested we try this a new adventure. Yes we did end up at the Dora Boat show after about a 2+ hr journey which included going through a lock in which Rodney almost fell in when the Lock Master started filling it up the surge of water almost tossed him out of Moody Blue.

I contacted Art yesterday and asked him if he new whether we could make that trip from the Silver River (same place where we started the Monkey Run a few years ago) as the two join but don't know if the water is deep enough on that part of the river......... The trip would include another lock and would definitely be an all day affair including the show and we'd have to get an early start to be back through both locks before they close. Last year we put in at the first lock AKA Moss Bluff Lock & Dam. Nice facility and we hauled boat from there south.

We should have plenty of room in boats so by all means plan on making the trip. There is a Marina about half way down to top off tanks if need be and of course at Dora there too.....Be there or be left behind.

The run up silver river sucks do not recommend. For some reason these tree and nature lovers will not clear the any of debris. Even out in the main river. I guess they forget back in the late 1800s that was the only transport to ocala. Before rail and all that
If you must go i got john boat. I will go onstep further. If you do go i have some spare props and i think one drive shaft

If you wanted to see a some of the ocklawaha and less of a boat ride. Nelsons fish camp on 42 is good. Dumps right into lake griffin.   Easy from astor about 30 to 35 minutes. 40 west to left on 455a by alexander springs to left on 19 headed south. And a right on 42 fish camp on left about 12 miles

What is going on Friday? I can be down fairly early to meet up with the Mustang. I will have space for 2 people to ride, ski all day. Going to sleep in truck and trailer over to boat show Sat, then head home.

Well thanks guys for the heads up. Looks like we'll put in again at the same location as last year. Still a fun scenic drive and we were running about 25mph most of the way. Bill we will leave Parramores by 9:00am I would think. So we'll have plenty of time to get there, see the show and head back possibly get a ski in along the way. Give me a shout if you have any questions.......... Guess we'll see you sometime during the Ruckus Mike?

Just the first half mile is hairy. Smooth sailing after that.

My schedule has loosened up a bit. I might be able to be there Fri-Sat and even a small chance I might be able to bring the '61.

Thanks for the input guys... Looks like we need to launch from the http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/ocala/recreation/recarea/?recid=40326" rel="nofollow - Moss Bluff Lock and head to the Dora show from there. Don't want any underwater gear to become a part of Florida like Reids Rudder last year off the classic. Google Maps says its a 31 mile ride from Parramore's so we probably need to be on the water by at least 10am. Tanks full and ready to go.

Art, if you're bringing the 61 I may have to talk you into a pull behind it!
