The raw water pump in my 78 nautique has seen better days and developed considerable play in the shaft. It isn't leaking any water but definitely needs new bearings. I have discovered that it is now a discontinued pump and been replaced by another model.
In an effort to save money and keep my boat original i would like to replace the bearings and have the bearing number (6203-625) from the bearing that is in there right now.

I would like to replace anything that I should when I do the bearings and I am not sure what I can replace. I haven't puled the unit apart yet as we are using the boat and I want to keep the downtime minimal.

Any advise?

If it isn't leaking, and engine temps remain normal, use it to end of season, remove, and send to me.
I'll rebuild it for you. The bearings and seals are available.
