My new house has a very steep grade and my Murano would not have been able to get it up the steep grass incline , and into the back yard. Well I got a Mercedes GLK 250. its all wheel drive and a 2.1 liter diesel. Sounds small but its mighty. It has twin turbos on a 4 cyl.   369 foot pounds of torque at 1600 rpms.   Its a little billy goat.   no problem getting it up there, even trough the soft sand etc.
