Hey all,
I recently finished my complete restoration of my 1979 Ski Tique, as original as possible, and spent Saturday on Badin Lake and Sunday on Lake Tillery, both in North Carolina. This boat was my father's and I learned to ski behind this exact boat.

Here are a couple pictures to share. I also have shared some on the Classic Correct Craft Boats Facebook page.

I even met David on Badin Lake, another Tique owner, while cruising the lake Saturday.

Nice job. Nice Tique. We might have just missed you on Badin. Greg and I were at David's dock at about 10:00, admiring his yellow Tique. You and David were probably both amused to run across another nice tique while out cruising.

Did you redo the lettering on your boat? Just curious because the dark blue air brushing on the light blue matches my Tique lettering exactly, except mine was redone in a smaller font. Unfortunately, I didnt realize until after about 14 years of aggressive cleaning, I was taking off some of the darker blue. there used to be more of it.

Mine wasn't as worn down as yours and I was able to paint match the dark and light blue with what was there. I did the entire job myself and even painted it myself. I taped it off. It isn't perfect but neither was the original work in 1979.

Very nice!

You're a better painter (and taper off er) than I am. I struggled painting my windshield frame.

Always good to see another nice old correct craft come in the cove. I promptly flagged him down to say hello and check out his 79. It was great to meet you Kevin and as I mentioned, please come to badin in oct for the badin mini. There will be a good group of people there. Edit...I see you already signed up. Now how about some engine pics. That 302 looked brand new!

Yes this is the original engine. We honed it to 0.010” over so there is still room to go later if needed. New cam (same grind as original) and new pistons, also a valve job on the heads to make it work with today’s fuels. Although I am running some race fuel that is excess from our race team at this time!

Kevin,
Did you rebuild with a RH rotation?

For those following, I also produced my stringers using CAD. I have a tremendous amount of time generating these files, so sharing them for free isn't going to happen. I may consider water jet cutting sets of stringers like I did if you have the same model, for a fee that includes the material. I hate to sound greedy, but my time is worth something.

FYI, I still had to do final fitting of the stringer to the hull bottom so it isn't exactly a drop in an glass system. But, it got me really close.

Other's, here on this site , have uses CAD Files to cut composite materials for stringers for Ski Nautiques. This is the first I have seen for a Ski Tique. Very sharp.
