A chain, BIG screw-driver, rubber mallet and one other person, and the prop popped right off the shaft....
Had a nice chat with Murphy's and they'll turn it in two days.
It's and Ellis 13 X 13 prop by the way. Shop said he doesn't come across many, but indicated it was a good match for the boat.
Should have it back on the boat this weekend, and the hoist properly adjusted so as to not have this problem again!

they make a tool called a prop puller. i think it will work a little better than your method!

Or if next time it's stuck...heat the prop flanges and then use a big hammer...I had one really stuck...used my prop puller, heat and had to hit it hard with a hammer.

Don't heat it to much or you could fry the cutla$$ bearing.

Grease the shaft before you put the prop back on. The nut will hold it in place and the waterproof grease will make it MUCH easier to remove again if you have to.
