Gear-heads:

My new Toyota 4Runner is a nice rig, but the Toyota canister oil filter is a real P-I-T-A. Also, I have to remove the skid-plate to change the filter.

What do you gents think about the remote oil filter mod as an option? I was trolling around some oil and Toyota sites and the feedback was quite varied.

I found a site that has some nice high-quality adapters by Baxter Performance

I'm thinking about going with their adapter and remote spin-on filter mount.

Thoughts?

I've seen Chevies with a remote filter stock. I really don't see an issue with them.

I would say it’s no big deal some Porsche’s are dry sump motors. As long as you get a quality unit which your link seem’s to be should be no big deal.
Me personally I like my Ford diesel filter’s they’re on top and easy pezy to change Just sayin
