Hello: I Have a correct craft Spectrum color catalogue.

My boat is a 1990 and the catalogue only shows Charcoal as 1992 Has anyone matched to 1990 Charcoal? manufacturer and color, or know if the 1992 is the same as 1990?

And is the dash black gel coat or paint? I don't see a gel coat for that at all.

There is a 1985 -2006 Black Onyx but that is a body color.

And for professional gel coat repairs, What is a good hourly rate? The shop I am talking to charges $100 per hour.

I have found the original colors from Spectrum
1990-1992 Arctic White
1990 -1992 Teal

Thanks for any help.
Bryan

My 89 had a few scratches in it.Not enough to buy too much gel coat.My colors are light blue and gray.
Was going to have to buy a whole gal to just fix what was just some minor places. That is the smallest amount that Spectrum will mix up

Funny that you came up with the small amounts of Spectrum colors that can be bought.I need to look at my color chart and see if they carry my colors!
Thanks for the heads up!

Don,
All I did was an internet search. It was simple. You're very welcome.

Seems like alot of extra work to keep warm, but what else you got to do? You could start loading up a boat for the River Run

Too late now. The lakes are frozen so the boats are stuck in the boat hose for awhile.

Excuses excuses, you wheel the trailer out on the ice,it's gotta be 3 feet thick already, park it under the boat and lower it on to the trailer. Hook it up to your Whoop Dee Doo and pull it out at the house or drive it over to the boat ramp. Done and done.

Well Todd, Gary sure seems to be contradictory today First, regarding feeding wood into the stove, he says:

I think during his carrier, he hung onto too much bare copper when that 20 HZ. 90 Volt AC ring signal came through.

Actually, it's a great idea but the ice isn't that thick just yet. The 1915 launch that I hope to finish one of these days was retrieved from an island boathouse using the method. It wasn't in floating condition so summer was out. I was lucky we had good ice and no snow at the time.

Low Voltage Technician Todd Actually the ringing wasn't bad, because it really didn't happen that often, but it was the Hi Cap's that had constant 120v sealing current on them that got you good.

Bryan - I have not found a way to buy anything less that a full gallon of gelcoat for these older colors, and it is a LOT of money to repair a few dings. I really love the patch-paste kits that you can buy from Spectrum for the more common colors, like the hull (Silver Cloud, I think it is called). If I could buy a quart, or a small patch paste kit in 1993 Charcoal Grey and Electric Blue I would do so immediately! I have resigned myself to likely trying to match the colors myself with a color kit at some point in the future.

If you find any other options, please let us know.

Oh - and I believe that the Black Onyx is the color for the dash.

As for the cost to pay someone else - why can't you repair your gelcoat yourself? There are instructional videos on the internet and experts who have done many repairs on their boats here on CCF. You can do it yourself, save money, and get good-as-new results. You care more about how your boat looks than anyone else. You'll be amazed at how easy it is and how great your boat looks after you do the work.
