Just had a look at a blue on white hulled Ski with a guess of 800 hours.

The trans has been removed, sent to a buddy of mine who has a trans shop and also owns a SNOB.

The trans was taken apart and is 100% completely destroyed. We have parts here but the case, everything is wrecked, so not enough to make it whole again.

The hull is really nice, No blisters and clean - but needs a good polish. The interior drivers seat and passenger are split. Looks like it has not been covered. The engine looks great as does the cover. The carpet is a bit nasty too.

Any ideas or options with this boat (eg suppliers, re-power etc?) Where is a tranny sourced.

The current owner wants out of the mess. I could offer something and make it a project.

About 2200 + 220 shipping west of the Mississippi 139 east from skidim for the newest PCM 80. Figure 250 -300 to reskin a seat. Can’t reme exactly what my skins cost from C&S but that will give you a close idea. You could see what a trans is from fantastic finish marine FFM with no core.

Just looked at my old receipt from C&S from a year and a half ago,I was way off- it was 150 per drivers armrest, the rest of my seat was good

As mention SkiDim for transmission which is 2200$. It’s typically not worth the time to rebuild the PCM 40. I’m in the process of ordering skins from C&S. Basically each piece of of upholstery is 175, ie seat bottom $175, 1 armrest $175, 1 back is $175.

Depends on how you look at it - I saw 98 196 with a gt40 and with a bad trans, he never discussed bad engine. If that was the case with all that it would have to be cheap, my 20 year old Mustang was 150.00

The engine looks great as does the cover Yes the GT40 is there.

What would the boat be worth in current shape? Has a double-the-hassles, dual axle trailer. No top or cover that I could see. I didn't look at the prop but assume it's the stock 4 blade. No Perfect pass or hour meter.

98 SNOB TSC GT40 Dual axle trailer for some reason should bring in $13+ Average condition, imo. I don’t know why, I’m not a SNOB fan nor the dual axle fan. GT40 was great in 1998, couldn’t give me one today. There’s a group of people wanting this boat bad because it’s a fantastic slalom hull and some people want to tow that open bow with their 9 passenger mini vans because they have two kids.
13,000 boat
-3800 for interior
-2500 tranny
-1000 labor to install
-3500 purchase
=10,800 invested
But being 1998 there’s 98% chance it’s masters green so deduct about $10,800 value.

Not gonna make gold flipping it but I could imagine breaking even with it. How many of us would want to know we could sell our boats tomorrow and break even?

Edit-Misread. Guess it’s not a snob, take $800 off that interior but still sought after boat bringing in 13k.

I made an offer for the boat (via text to a friend :) but my other buddy Brody with the SNOB/and trans shop bought for the same cash $3500 Canadian!! Gawd dang! Oh well - I don't need the distraction have plenty to do otherwise. BUT - interesting opportunity now..

My boat has a front seal leak due to the vent-valve-stuck-closed/over-pressure-condition. I lose about a cup a season but it's flipping messy.

Brody says it bites to put a new tranny in an old boat - So we could swap with mine. I get a new one and he takes my old tranny and does a rebuild??

Good or stupid idea? I'm thinking $500-100o for my tranny :) in exchange.
