Looks like I need a rebuildable or usable water pump for my 61 CC 100 hp intercepter. I had a guy pull mine apart and he damaged the housing and shaft so here I am with a new inpeller and seals and bad housing.
Jabsco 8470 pump.
Thanks

Thomas,
What's the extent of the damage to the housing?

The guy who took it apart, evidently beat the shaft out of the housing to get the impeller out. That in turn damaged a bearing? or something like a pressed bushing that the shaft went thru to the housing. It actually looked like some tiny wound springs that the shaft fit into.
I am kinda talking about something I really dont know about here, but maybe in the AM I can go down to the repair shop and try for a picture.
Thanks Pete,
TF

Thomas,
Where have you been looking for parts? The impeller or other parts? If bearings and seals they are generic and can be found at a power transmission distributor (bearing house)

So, you got the parts and then your "mechanic" went at the pump with a hammer?    Bearings, bushings and seals can be replaced. The discontinued housing would be the problem. Take a good look at the pump, get back to us and then please, find someone without the hammer!!

Yea, that's what I did, new guy has been working on boats all his life. I think he will try to save it, but has some doubts.
Thanks,
