I Own a 1985 Ski Nautique I just installed a Wilson alternator to replace my Prestolite it has exactly the same connections on the back, out put red wire purple ignition and small red. I am not getting charging voltage of any kind . I noticed it has a Motorola voltage regulator mounted on the back of the engine. I can not find a wiring diagram. In the 85 2001 was it externally regulated ? or do I have some kind of mismatch? Thank You Joe |

Is this a Pleasurecraft engine or maybe a Commander in the boat? 351w's from both companies were used in 85. along with a stray Chevy or two Right about now, some pictures would be helpful  A picture of the engine itself showing the alternator location, a picture of the alternator and a picture of the voltage regulator would be a good start |
