Has anyone tried a Master-Lift ML31-25 or ML31-30 instead of the ML31-20?   How about the Taylor Made Stainless Steel ones? Looking for something that lasts a bit more than 1 or 2 seasons. I wonder if a 25lb or 30lb would have a little more life than the 20lb stock replacement that barely holds up the old glove box lid in 1999 Ski Nautique. That glove box lid is a heavy beast that sure hurts when it falls on your hand.

I just replaced with the stainless steel one for fun but wonder if it will die in a year.

I've had a similar problem with the fast fail on the glovebox lift.

For this season, I'm trying these. $11 for 2. They about 3/8" shorter than the springlifts but work fine on 2004 206.
