Brought her home today. Had been stashed in a garage, essentially unused last couple years....very well taken care of ‘97 196. 600 hrs on the Hobbs, two owners. GT-40. Had been watching it on CL since last fall. Patience paid off.

Yes, 96 sig. was thinking of a project combined with brain-fade from home schooling.

My children’s 2nd grade teachers are going to *************** themselves when they go back in the fall using the quadratic equation to solve!

Always loved the Signature edition slant-backs. They kinda trialed the 97-99 striping as well as the 97 clamshell motor box. Cool unique interior vinyl too, awesome boat.

Did a quick search but it didn't pop up. What group size is the battery box in this '96 SN?

Thanks,
Ultra

Better double check your searching

Sometimes 48 sorta looks like 43.

And lots of people use a Group 65 in place of that 40 whatever it is.

The height is the most important part for fitting in the battery box

From our '96 manual in ref. section:

However KENO, you would be correct as #48 OR #41 is clearly labeled on the inside of the battery box cover :-)

I guess they can't make up their mind    41, 48, 43

A lot of people do use the Group 65 though.

Considering cranking amps and price it's a good buy
