Well, we are back from the reunion and it was great to meet a lot of new people. The weather was a little questionable at first, but it only rained a few minutes all weekend. Sure was glad we made it and with no major injuries. Bruises and sore tendons are good right???

Special thanks needs to go out to m3fan (joel and beth) for bringing the slalom course and setting it up. Hollywood was in the boat too so a big shout out to him! Thanks to Magicman's81 for letting me use his prop puller. No casualties, but Joel let me use his 4 blade prop. Stang72 is just plain fun to hang out with. I learned a lot about these older nautiques and how to tweak my carb on the 93.

The skiing was great and the visiting was priceless. It is really fun to talk boats with people who are pa$$ionate about their rides.

We have some great photos which will be uploaded in the near future. M3fan has some video which is way over my head, but was cool. I provided many faceplants but never caught on film. But we will get those available ASAP.

Thanks again guys for a great weekend and I look forward to a spring gathering!

Weitekampt

Awesome time. What did we have? 6 or 7 boats? Decent weather, TONS of skiing, 2 days of course deployment, 2 back deeps on shoe skis, a back-to-front on shoe skis, a "hand ski"/"gra$$hopper" attempt resulting in lost shoe ski due to poor driving, plenty of grilling, beer drinking and fun. We had all members of the crew in the course... well almost. Nearly killed Stang72's kid in the course. What a time. Video and pics to follow shortly. Special thanks to Dana and Alan for always being there with the coffee when I needed it.

Oops, can't forget Todd's amazing trick skiing- Todd wins the prize for "sleeper" waterskier. He'll be the first one to tell you he isn't that good, then uncork some serious shizznit behind the boat. Good times.

The word of the weekend...as Joel said sooo well " OUTSTANDING! ".
It's pretty easy to have a great time when the group of people you are with are so...(here it is again)..."OUTSTANDING".
Boat swapping! That was way cool!
Skiing...campfires...brewskis...food...water...the people...weathermen who are liars(said it would rain)ALL good!
Always ready to do it again!

It sure was an OUTSTANDING weekend. Great to see you guys again and all your smokin' hot wives. Everyone was very hospitable and I especially thank Alan and Dana for letting me crash in the Bounder. Also, Body was very gentle, he must have known it was my first time.

Magicman will be getting a new pair of shoe skis as closely as possible resembling the old ones as possible, I just need to raid a few kitchens for some cutting boards.

Hollywood, The shoes were made from my EX-Wife's cutting board, having one sit on the bottom of lake Shelby is a perfect ending to that period of my life THANK YOU.   Dana only has wood cutting boards so the next pair may actually float.

Seriously thought, awesome weekend, this whole group of people are so easy to be around and we had a blast with everyone. Todd, great to meet you and Rene. Joel is right, Todd was inpressive on the trick ski and a monster on the course, the guy is rock solid on the water.

My skiing was disappointing, re-injured my arm pretty much first time in the water Saturday. The rest of the day was a struggle and I blew off sunday. I do think my performance in the friday night beer drinking was OUTSTANDING though.

Ken, We thought the campground was excelent, I was a little nervous about the motorhome on that steep ramp but turned out to be a piece of cake. We'd definately go again.

Weekend highlite was getting an official PLBC Tee shirt. An honor and a priveledge, Hollywood is a cla$$ act in my book, and a tough act to follow on the water.

Alan....hope your arm wasn't too serious.

We dodged a bullet with the weather. There were hellacious fronts of weather all around us and we were left unscathed. We took a gamble and launched the boats on Saturday with ominous skies above. Sure enough, it was all show and no go for the weather as we skied for hours on both days. I'll have some pics up tonight- I took a glance at what I had and it's some pretty good footage and pics. I wish I had a pic of the 81, 00, and 93 launching simultaneously at the ramp. That was pretty sweet!

Alan: more "12oz curls" will fix that arm problem.

To you PLBC boys: you better make them T's avalible to all on this site. Great fund raiser.

PS to Hollywood: I'll trade ya a couple cold ones for one of those famous "T's" next month. We are still on , right?

Joel, that is Alan. He was riding the burner. I had red shorts. No big deal, but Alan gets credit for that bouy. We are waiting to hear back from Keith on how to upload our pictures. We have 100 pictures but don't know the easiest way to do it. Will post some maybe tomorrow night. We are busy playing catch up after goofing off all weekend!

I'll tell you that it was cool talking to Joel about your boat. I dig the trailer. We looked into having a custom trailer made then decided the stock one will due! Yikes. We really do like the boat and would like to upgrade, but I think Joel has be set on looking into cruise and maybe a heater. The dreams are big but the wallet is small.

72stang, my e-mail is weitekampt@aol.com or todd@agsourceseeds.com Also, the phone number is 217-202-5946.

I would really like to meet up again this fall. If there is ever a window, give me a call. We may actually be heading that way on sunday if the weather allows for a few hours. I am really pumped after this weekend. It is only September, plenty of skiing left.

Well, it is nappy-nap time. I am still tired an sore from this weekend. That dang slalom will make a guys shoulders sore. I love the clincher gloves, but the forearms take a beating also. I think my nose is finally protruding out the front of my face again. After 3 faceplants on the slalom trick, I felt like I didn't have any curves to my face!

later guys!

You know, the whole PLBC "brand" really catches on for some reason. It reminds me of a company called "Slapaho" which started off by just making stuff that said Slapaho on it. Could be a new business for the brothers... check this out

Is this the reason you need to dominate all discussions here? you get owned at home?

I'd consider making some stuff as a side gig, of course I would make sure it was profitable.

I've got all this new stuff to go on and only got to use the boat maybe three times this season, never even tune-it up from winterizing it last year, Now I'm heading up monday and have to winterize it again. Man it sucks not living on a lake any more.

Joel,

Now I am not very computer literate, but how did you upload a few pictures just for people to see. I was going to to 6-7 or so. I e-mailed Keith but haven't heard anything back on where to upload our pictures. We have about 100. Don't have to upload all if that is too much room. Also, do you think I will have to crop them or change the size?

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. I want to get these pictures to a place where people can see them if they are interested.

later, Oh, what CD was that. Great tunes, may go out and buy it.

He'll get back to you. He's a busy dude. Essentially you will get a link you can follow to dump the pictures into a folder.

The song is "Rocking Horse" by Gov'T Mule, off their debut album. The singer/guitarist is Warren Haynes, who played with the Allman Brothers for a while and is generally regarded as one of the best slide players out there. I didn't get their permission to use the song, but I suppose if it sells them a couple more CDs it's a good thing. The second song is YYZ by Rush off of Moving Pictures.

Well, I can attach them all and send them to him. I would a$$ume it may plug up a mailbox wouldn't it? I don't know how big the folder is that I have the pictures in, but I would a$$ume it would be of a good size.

I will work with the wife and have them sent tonight. I have just heard that if you send too many pictures to somebody, it could plug up their e-mail.

Will try tonight though. I did see the reply earlier though. Just thought there was a website or larger "place" to send them.

Thanks, Todd

Todd, don't listen to 79 on this one (I don't get to say that too often). You will be sent a link to an FTP site where you can just drag and drop all your pics. DO NOT send them all by email.

Thanks. I plan to put together a much more involved video for the next big reunion. This is just a small taste of what is possible- and I'm not even too experienced with this.

joel won't he need a pa$$word and the IP address for the FTP to acces and send the files? If it was me I would just zip the files attach it and send in a couple of e-mails.

FTP is quicker but most don't know enough to due it, Hell I even forget it's been so long since I've done it. use to do it exchanging cad files with the FEA boys back in the day.

Joel

Thanks a lot for that video.....now afer seeing it, I have to spend the next 6 months kicking myself in the $#% for not sucking it up and making the drive down there. What was I thinking?

You did a great job on it. Definitely have to plan another "unofficial" get together for spring. I'll have the 97 up and running again by then (hopefully).   Looks like I missed a great time.

Nothing from PCM except that they "can't believe that happened because the GT40's are 'bulletbroof'...." Right. Difference between a rebuild and a new GT40 crate engine (which are pretty hard to find) is less than $1000, so that's the way I'm going to go. Hope to get it done in Jan or Feb....marina charges less when it's 0 degrees with a foot of snow on the ground!

Rob

p.s. I may have my old gt40 heads for sale at the beginning of spring if anyone's interested....

remember all you need is a short block which runs around 1500-2000, everything else on you motor is good. Crates around 3500-4000 or more usually and you still have to use your alt, dist, starter, RWP, exhaust manifolds,

so all you really are getting are heads, intake, and a carb for the most part. So double check and make sure what is included with the crate motor.

Not yet but all I'd have to do is ask the right person. I will have my own race car/rental as well.

HW; Didn't get it yet but should be no problem. Tonydjd called tonite asking if we were still on. And as long as 79 is still here, he is in as well. We'll put the (very stock, thanks 79) '80 in the water for a ride and then we will hit the Harborside. Remember 79? We had lunch there. I know of a really great "backwoods" place if we want to drive a little. Hw, you need a place to stay Friday nite? Lookin' forward to seeing you guys.
