So, now that I'm in the trailering-crowd, I'm putting together a 'boat-away' kit, AKA "fly-away kits" that we have on our planes, for when we break down in places we shouldn't even be at...

So, at this point I have:

1. Both drive belts (GT40 EFI)
2. ECM fuel pump relay
3. 2 impellers and gasket goop.
4. Associated tools to change above, and tighten clamps, etc..

Anything else? Fuses?

Thanks,

Ultra

Good gouge guys. Yep, got a puller and bulbs. Hadn't actually thought of grabbing an extra prop, but makes sense for vaca trips....

Unfortunately the list is endless. I’ve replaced trailer springs on the highway. Been times where I’ve had complete hub and tire but damn it I needed two hubs and tires. A voltage checker is something I can’t stand to leave home without but I guess that’s the electrician in me. My suggest is put together the best kit you feel necessary and add paper towels and hand cleaner to it and always carry a case of water with you. I only break down at 1pm when it’s 110* in July and I’m in a hurry and make a mess with bearing grease.

Were are you planning on carrying all this stuff? In the boat or leave it in the tow car/truck?

Lets don't forget to carry a jump starter battery. Might come in handy on the lake. Small and inexpensive.

Yeah, the heavy road-trip stuff is in the vehicle, like extra pop, jump starter, stuff like that. I'll keep just the basics in the boat...bulbs, impeller, belts, pump relay, etc..

With that said, anyone here have a bulb light-socket with the male wire stalk that goes into the back of a gauge? I noticed the one on the fuel gauge is missing as I had the dash pod off tracing down a loose connection to the nav light.

Thanks,

Ultra

I’ve always been “trailer trash,” impeller, belts, relay in the boat everything else you can limp it back to the truck for.
Our local trips (<1hr) Basic tool kit spare and jack.
Week long+ vacation then the list gets involved.

I always pack heavy with spare parts on boat trips and leave them in the truck box. I figure you came always get a tow back to the boat ramp and if I need it it`s there.
