Hey Everyone, Just a heads up to be watching for the registration page. Mojo and I have sent our preliminary reunion info to Keith. I'm sure we'll see the registration page and event schedule soon.

There is a new venue for Friday nights Meet and Greet as well as a new site for Saturday night's dinner and a Saturday on the water lunch at the sandbar.

We have a firm commitment this year from Correct Craft to put a pro boarder on the water saturday morning for demo and instruction. Details will be forthcoming as we get closer to the event.

That's all we can say for now but keep your eyes peeled for more details when the registration is set up. Hang in there, it's coming soon.

Let's all give it up for the Mojoman this year, he took every event breaker that came our way and came up with a solution that will make this year even better than last.

Alan, is this a bit of foreshadowing that Deacon Park is unavailable?

yes but don't despair, we've come up with 2 great solutions for Friday and Saturday night still right in town, walking distance for everyone. This will be better than last year.

We also got confirmation today that Thomas Bates from Correct Craft will be attending again and will be bringing Pro Tour Rider Adam Wensink along for a saturday morning Demo and Clinic. Details on the clinic will be coming shortly. They'd also like to do some wake surfing in the afternoon if anyone's interested in trying that out. They'll be bringing either a 210 or 236 depending on what's available at the time.

Gonna be a great weekend so lets double that boat count this year.

Thanks Mojo...I'm sure it will be great, whatever you've come up with.

Great to hear Tom Bates will be back. He was truly a cla$$ act. I'd love to try to wakesurf....might be the only thing to do on Saturday if it was like last year. Can't wait!!

If it is like last year , you wont need a boat to surf. Just catch a wave from one end of the lake to the other .

Thanks guys, trust me this was a collaborated effort. The persuasive powers of our own 81'Nautique cannot go unrecognized...!!! Thanks Magic...

Yes Joel,
Unfortunately, the park is unavailable to us to a$$emble in, but it certainly can be enjoyed by us all once we get there.. The Friday night gathering (which I encourage everyone to attend)as well as the Saturday's dinner option have been accommodated by some of the town's merchants, and have really openned their arms to our reunion this year. They both will allow for ample parking and or a few blocks by foot...

With this year including a sandwich lunch out at the sandbar, and with Tom from CC and the pro wakeboarder confirmed, we're going to have a great time !!!

MM, Kieth did make it last year. Not sure of his intentions yet this year.. I don't think he'll want to miss it though....

Shine um up guys, we're only a few short months till July...

Very Cool Keith, Thanks again for getting that up so quickly.

Looks like one glitch though. I just registered but am not showing up on the list yet.

Also you can pencil in Adam Wensink as our Pro Tour rider, he has been confirmed. I talked to him and Thomas on thursday and they are both excited to get out for the weekend.

We're working on Adam's sponsor Hyperlite to set us up with some demo boards, let you know if that works out.

Ken,

Milwaukee, or Madison Wisconsin are the closest airports. I flew to Milwaukee last year. Only about a 90 mile drive if I remember. Chicago flights might be a little cheaper, but I decided it wasn't worth the extra 2 plus hours driving time, not to mention having to deal with Chicago traffic.

Ken, You may find a cheap flight if you look into Southwest, they fly into Midway. Midway is certainly smaller than O'Hare and easier to get in and out of but it will add about 45 minutes to your drive up to Green since it is our South Side airport.

I usually fly Southwest to Providence when I go east. Not sure exactly where you are.

My vote would be Milwaukee or O'hare. O'Hare will be an easy drive as long as you are not going north on 294 from 3-7PM. It becomes a total nightmare at about Willow Rd. at that time.

Milwaukee's about an hour north of me, and I'm about 30 minutes from O'Hare, so it'll add around 1.5 hours of travel time with light traffic.

EDIT: I'd also avoid Midway during this time period. Getting from south of Chicago to Wisconsin in rush hour may be enough to make Ken drive his car into the lake. Isn't 94 all under construction by Midway?

Ken,
Last year I flew http://www.nwa.com - Northwest from Logan to Milwaukee. Tickets are $200-$280 and they serve homemade cookies on the flight.

I rented a car for about $35 and made it to Green Lake in just about 90 mins.

I'll probably be flying in on Friday mid-day.

I'll search fares for O'hare and Milwaukee, Joel. I just don't want to sit in traffic for hours. I'll fly in early Friday, so that should give me time to get my rental, find my sleeping accommodations, etc.

I appreciate any input. I've never been to WI, but I've been to Detroit many times on business.

That price sounds very reasonable Keith. The more I think of it, stay away from Midway, just adds too much time to the drive.

Reid, MM, Tim & anyone else coming thru Chicago,

Although GL is quite a ways off perhaps you guys would want to do a stop off in the Chicagoland area Thursday on the way up, we could ski my lake or cruise the chain of lakes nearby, Blarneys Island for the Thursday Night Boat races or whatever. GL is about 2.5 hrs from my house.

At the moment my plan is to head North to GL Fri AM however I am open for anything.

Looking forward to it!

We're good for thursday am too. Staying over thru sunday night.

Last year we had a campfire going thursday night and we did some steaks and sweet corn with a bunch of folks that came in early. That was pretty cool and I'm sure that's what we'll do this year so just pack some steaks and we're on.

Quinner, I as well will probably take you up on a visit. While taking such a long trip, multiple destinations make it all the more worth while. BKH posted on the camping thread that he might be up for making it a longer trip as well. And then Alan we'll see you around the fire.

In regards to alternatve accomodations if Ken and others are still looking, I spoke to a super nice guy this afternoon named Dan from Fox Valley RV rentals in Appleton, WI which isn't too far away. He's still got ample pop-up and motorhome rentals available. He grew up on Green Lake and his parents are retired there. He said it was very possible that he could even deliver a unit or two to the Lake. Anyone interested can reach him at http://www.foxvalleyrv.com/, or 920-303-2741. BKH (Brian), you can fly in and catch a ride to pick up a nice motorhome for the week. And I'd be up for hitting the Merc plant and Harley plant you mentioned.

I was also told that Lake Winnebago was a nice visit for boaters if time allowed.

No worries, there are a couple ways to head north without going thru the city, us local guy's will make sure everyone knows the fastest and safest route when the time comes.

Now the well being of your cooler once in GL is another subject, if it contains Bud or Coors Light there is nowhere it will be safe!

jbear, I don't think MM and Keith are really Southerners, are they, or just from a latitude standpoint. But they sure are hospitable.

Steve, based on quinner's invite, and if it works with him, I might try to be at his place Weds and then head on into GL on Thurs for steak/corn nite as well. But then I'll miss the Thurs nite boat races quinner mentioned. Chris, just what are these races?
Not sure what boat we're bringing. Wanted to bring something small and fast but we may have 4 people and 2 good-size dogs, which crowds a Mustang 16. We're currently trying to put an old Nautique back together, but after running my mouth for the last month, it'd better run good no matter what it is.

We have a large chain of lakes here (the Fox chain). One of the lakes has a bar on an island called Blarney's island which is outrageously popular in the summers. They host boat races every Thursday night at that bar.

Hey Reid and others,

http://www.blarneyisland.com/index.php - Blarney Island on the Chain of Lakes has boat races every Thursday night starting at 6pm, they run several classes of boats from outboards to Blown Alcohol. We could cruise/ski the Chain on Thursday and hit the road North that afternoon/evening or whatever works for everybody. Another option if you guys make it up by Weds afternoon would be going to see the Aquanuts Water Show, Hollywood will be skiing with the team this year. http://www.aquanutwatershows.com/ - The Aquanuts Wed night show starts at 6pm.

Blarney's has been an icon for decades.. The only problem is you usually can't stand straight let alone drive after.. The women are hot, bands are cook'n but the traffic on the water is unreal crazy... and the DNR is everwhere out there...

OK, severe change in plans. I've read up and I'll be at Blarney's (KeyWest of the MidWest)on June 7th, opening day of boat racing. I'm signed up for the "Lake Racer Inboard" class. Just need to see about moving my gas tank(s) to the side(??) Please come find me when it's time to head to GL, as I will have lost track of everything. Look for the skinny bald guy and/or the only one trying to race a Correct Craft.

This is gonna take some thought and planning. Really neat looking place.

do we really have to move the tanks? I read the rules, but thought I could get away with the edelbrock exhaust and the tank being in stock position, Not worried about the heads they look stock.

Drop in some phoney tanks to pass the "visual" inspection. I've never been to these boat races, this will be fun.

Last summer we almost jumped on the fairy to just head out there and check it out, never happened though. I've heard good things, will remember to bring my sunglasses.

Hollywood,

Do you like jumping on fairies? I ride the ferry to get to a destination. Just keeping it real, my friend.

Just don't wear your chaps to GL, Chris. I might bring back my plaid shorts though. I'm packing my 80's, pink and green wetsuit for the yuck of it. My mullet should be grown in by then!

I don't know about that Chris and Mark. But I guess I've been more embarrassed before without having near as much fun. We may be better off reserving our sparring for GL Friday AM. But I am NOT one to just sit around and watch. Sometimes I can't tell when you guys are serious or not. That's half the fun, I guess.

However, it's easy to tell that Chris and Ken are serious when on the non-boat topic.

MM, I'm OK with the small boats because I have a huge.........ski. Besides I'm 5',9-5/8" tall, this year.   And I doubt your boat is bone stock. And if it is, then you're getting the next set of "P" heads. I need another excuse to come South to watch some guys work. Bringing a cam this time though. Assemble the team.

Im just talking sh#t somebody needs to! I know my boat is not as fast as yours, but my brother and I have a few more small tweaks we are going to do before GL, It will running about 55 or 56! I want to put new heads and a roller cam in it, but Im going to put the money into the cosmetics with a new paint job and some other things, so the big motor mods will have to wait till next fall!

Max your not going to get to the 55mph club with out a cam and heads, the guys that claim to be there are also in small boats like reids and not in the top of the line models like ours.

79....I know, this is where you tell me that I'm full of $hit and that I have bullsh*t ideas on hp gains and that I am talking out of my a$$ but my boat is running 54 now and I dont think that 1mph is that far fetched!
with http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=011&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=320086632843&rd=1 - THIS tweak and I have 2 others that are going to add to the performance. I know I am doing it the hard way without the heads and the cam but i am going to get all the add on parts out of the way first!

Posted By: TRBenj
Date Posted: March-03-2007 at 10:47am
MM, I dont see how you can be running 2MPH faster than '79 without heads or a cam. Seems like it would take a lot more than high CR, roller rockers, intake and ignition to get you into the mid 50's. Have you verified with GPS? What prop are you running? What RPM are you at?

MM that's funny since I order the Chrome intake I've been looking into plating shops and add ons too, then I thought this could get out of hand and cost a few bucks. IT's that K&N kick'n in that extra 3 mph right

Getting this thread back on track, we have   a little more than 4 short months to the 2nd annual Green Lake Reunion. While checking with hotels within the greater GL area, they are filling up fast for summer. Pleople are making plans and solidifying them..

If you are serious about attending this great event weekend, please register and get your accommodations in line.. If you are thinking on bringing an RV, I can help locate the secondary sources outside of town. I've been told the main campgrounds RV section is full.

So, those lurking, wondering, jockeying for time off, and really want to go this summer then please register. It help with the final coordination of events, dinner, etc. And as Alan has eluded to, it helps with the sponsorship donation that make this event much more fun..

So lets support Keith, the sponsors and the CCFan.com site by registering today... 14 boats is nothing. If members from as far away as Kansas City, New England, North Carolina and Florida can make it, so can you dozens of member from Wisc, IL, In and Ohio....

That is all <--------Mojo out

I must admit I briefly read the blarney race rules and considered taking the new stroker out of the 83 and putting it into the lightened up 67 mustang for the trip dropping in some race gas cranking up the timing, and ah screw it sounds like a lot of work...

I think I am about ready to bite the bullet and get signed up with a camping site or two summer gets closer and all my plans/projects are still on hold but worse case scenario I can't get one of my correct crafts done and I have to bring along an outboard... at least then I would be sure to win a top speed contest...
