my 64 skier will rev good in throttle mode but as soon as I take it out for a ride the boat wont go past 2000 rpm at full throttle. Any ideas?

Check your fuel filter, water separator if you have one, and air filter to make sure they arent clogged.

Does your 64 have a vent from the gas tank comming out of the stern?
My 72 does and every once and a while backwash gets through the vent and water is trapped in the hose...which will cause problems at around 2000 rpms. I corrected this by elevating the hose. Just a thought!
