A Sticky Question:

I'm removing some old stickers (boat registration numbers), and I'm just wondering what might be good to remove the adhesive gunk left behind. Acetone?

My boat is painted.

Acetone will ruin/take off the paint. You can get Goo Gone from wally world and gojo without the pumice works good too.

Use mineral spirits, its less abrasive that acetone. That what I used to take old decals off. Also if you can use a straight razor, not one from a razor knife that will do the job also.Just be careful and you will be ok.

i applied goof off (similar to goo gone), let sit
a few minutes, then scraped off with a widget ( a blade with a hadle), then polished. looks great.
