Doc you should clearify the dist a little.

A 289, 302 dist will not work on a 351W

You gonna bring them back in your carry on, Ken?

Remember that they'll weigh 50 lbs each!

I had the '89 World Championship decals reproduced that were used on the 89-91 boats. They cost me a pretty penny, so Ill bring the few extras that I have to GL and have them available for $40.

The shop that found the cylinder with zero compression thought he had a stuck valve- he needs a leakdown test to confirm this. If thats the case, a set of a reman'd GT40's or GT40p's will only cost a few hundred bucks more than a valve job.

What's the latest with that motor, wasn't that brand new last summer?

Yup, I'm still having engine issues. The boat has about 23 gentle hours on a rebuilt. I was told that #7 cylinder is putting out zero compression. The dipstick is kicking out of the crankcase. The PVC valve has weak suction.
I've never had a good engine day on this boat since I picked it up May of 2004.

It's sitting at the boat place waiting for repair. I'm thinking this will be another 3 week lay-up. Sounds like I'm going to pay for labor and parts too. Thousands of dollars have been sunk into this boat.

Bring it to Green Lake, you can swap it for sumptin' like a AWSA sticker or some GT 40 heads.
There is a good 1964 Am. Skier in Autin Tx.Some times a good deal ain't.Sorry about your trouble and the bad luck that has followed after the purchase. These are to be fun toys, not the money pits that some seem to have purchased.......good sailing

Paul,

Paul, I might be but it's still a toss up weather I should run a 540 or a 542 on my Tique with a stock 302. I'm waiting for Tim's (TRbenj) neighbor to try it first on his Tique!! See you in GL.

Pete, I think you want the 540. I havent been in the boat or spoken to him yet, but my neighbor's been running the new prop for a few weeks on his Tique. It looks like the boat goes like hell. I say give one a try if you can- I dont think it will be too steep for that little boat.
