Last night marked the season finale for the Lost Lake crew (Tim, Brad, Larry and myself). We made the best of it. Leaving the boom at the dock we managed several multiple long-line runs and one four-man ... all behind Brad's stock '86 SN - stock 351, stock Federal prop. Special thanks to Erich for driving!

This site has got me hooked on footin again, and thanks to HW and Johhny for getting me out there. We need to get started early next year guys and really get after advancing everyone's skiing and learning some new tricks, or in my case relearning old ones I see lots of boom time on the horizon.

Nice work Boy's!! Very impressive all that behind Brad's stock boat and the table looks really sweet. Looks like the Midwest contingent is going to need to step it up a notch to keep up with you guy's, time to strip everything out of the 206 and find a 100lb driver so we can get 6!

That 39mph rocketship will have to go on a serious diet to pull 6. I think the NE crew should be able to find a boat that will pull a half dozen without much of a problem. JBear and Backfoot will have to make the trip up here to complete the east coast squad.

Awesome work guys. Keith, the video is great. Thanks.

Just keep in mind that even though your season is done, there's an open invitation to anybody on this site to come out footin' if you get to central FL at some point this winter. I'm sure I could talk JBear into joining us too.

I was impressed with the boat as well. I wasnt sure if a 240hp would get it done, but it held a solid 36mph with 4 of us back there- and none of us are lightweights. Triple deeps were no problem either. I was pleasantly surprised with the 2001 table this year- waaay nicer than my '90.

After watching the video again, I realized that I didnt take many turns in the boat. Im sorry if I was a hog last night (but not that sorry).

I wonder if your top speed would increase 1 or 2 mph if you were all on a low pull.

How do tumble so fast Tim?

Man, you guys are good. Brad, you must feel pretty good about that old, stock 351. Are you pulling off the pylon? I don't remember you having a tower?

That was one of the things I mentioned last night. The extended pylon gives the footers an upwards pull and also brings the bow of the boat up a little, so its a win-win for speed. Our '92 (285hp) pulled 4 around the same speed (~37), so this might have been the difference maker. Beforehand, I wasnt sure if Brads boat would pull it- but it did great.

Not sure how I tumble so fast. Maybe because Im sideways by the time my ass hits the water. I tend to come around fast and plant hard, so my endo at the end of the video is not especially uncommon.

I'd also like to mention, it looks like Brad has a load in his pants in all these videos! Maybe it looks that way because of his stance, and/or he's just wearing some nice puffy extra shorts underneath.

Riley- We have an extended pylon (SkyJack clamp-on style) that we pull from long line. I hear it helps but I haven't really noticed any difference between that and the standard height pylon.

Yeah- I was pretty impressed. The deep water start with 3 deep was fine. We may have been able to start all 4 deep.

Thanks for pointing that out HWood...Only a guy who wears a bright pink barefoot suit would notice my low, "loaded" stance

You four guys looked great out there. The water getting that cold up your way already that your ending the season so soon. Seemed like you were having to much fun to quit now.

Tull,
I think we can throw a four man deep up behind either of our BFN's no problem. ON good smooth water of course. Still time yet this year to show them. You guys can make a stop down here or we could most likely make another run up there. Not to be greedy but if you were healthy we could maybe get five.

Are there any bridges at GL? We might have to make this a little more interesting.

I know this doesn't qualify, but I'm trying to locate a video of a group of us doing a 12 man behind a Hydrodyne. It was powered by twin 250's.
It may be a while, my wife stored (lost) the tape. When I find it, I'll post.

Lefty, I'm assuming that's your foot line for your show? All steps right? Our line was (started with) 12, 20' dynaski trip 150s. I don't think we have enough power to put anymore guys back there with that rig.

For years I've been trying to find a picture from a helicopter of a Malibu Echelon pulling ~15 guys off 2 booms. Anyone have a copy?

Our pontoon boat will probably end up with a hardtop (might be 10 years from now), pretty much for the ladies to tan and the guys to do flyers off of.

It was after a tournament in Warsaw Indiana. We all (13) did sitting dock starts with two skis. The interesting thing was that it is a private 23 acre lake, Hidden Lake, owned by a guy on the Lake City team. We started on the dock, got up, took a sharp turn and gassed the boat. We were only footing for about 400' before we had to shut the boat down.
The group was made up with guys from 4 different teams. Our team's barefoot line is typically 7 guys, at the most.

Tim, Larry, fantastic job as usual. Any room for one more behind that '86er, Brad? You'll need to show me the long line start. Damn, it's going to be a long winter!

Ken- Next year I hope you can make it out more often than you did this summer. I know you've been busy with your new job and I'm glad that's going well for you. We'll get you going on some long line starts and there will be plenty of opportunity for multi skier runs behind the ol 86er. Tim is lookin for excuses for me upgrade the old girl, but I don't see any need for it. Bring on 5!
Bone stock and proud of it!

We're gonna get out there tomorrow morning, burn some 89 octane and rip up some glass

Thanks, Brad. I really appreciate the pulls earlier this year when I was boatless. My year would have been a complete bust without you and the 86er on crack. Thanks to you and Cheney for opening up your home and lake to us. I really miss Cheney's post-skiing cooking.

If and when we do a five person BF pull, we can give my boat a shot with the 540. I have a FlitePipe too. I've put a total of seven hours on my boat and it runs like a top!

Hope you have a great morning.

Hollywood is correct on how we started. Actually based on the solid pull we got doing three, the boat might have done four deep just fine. At the beginning of the evening we came up with the plan how we would start, thinking the boat wouldnt do four deep and just stuck with the plan despite the boats obvious but hidden strengths. We didnt have much time to experiment because we were running out of daylight. This living at the arctic circle really starts to suck this time of year.

Oh and note to Alan, since I am now chiming in for the first time. Although just to be cool is always an acceptable excuse, they are not shades to be cool. I wear swimming goggles over my contacts since I am rather blind and the lenses tend to get washed away.

Anyway, as the others have said, it was a great night out, lots of fun, good way to wrap up the season. At the end of last year, although it was a stretch, we said we would give the midwest boys a run for the money. With Keiths and Brads impressive progress this summer, I think we got their attention. I have a feeling the competition is going to get a bit intense next year...and Oh, I'm not forgetting the spur of the moment Lake Norman crew and their 6-man (does it count if you bring in ringers from all around the country?)

Sorry, long post.

That's alright Larry, you're still cool. I was wondering what happened when you went down with shades on. I had Lasik years ago and took care of that problem but I remember dropping off at the wrong dock at the end of a run many times.. Once again, you guys look great, keep it up for a couple more weeks if you can.

Larry,

The midwest contingent has done 4 many times including 4 CCFan's like your line, I don't really count the 5 we did on my lake because it was being pulled by an MC plus 1 guy had shoes on. As far as Lake Norman the 5 was all CCfan's, Jbear, Quinner, Nautique John, Hollywood & Johnny + Reid P at the wheel for bonus points, the sixth man in was John's Buddy Eddie. I think the new challenge now is going to be length of run's plus tricks, like that wicked cool double tumble by You and Timmy. We still have a couple weeks to pull one out of the hat so let's see what happens.

5 behind Brad's boat is going to be a challenge, when we did the 5 behind the BFN on Norman it was no problem however when we added the sixth it really slowed down and was a challenge for my 210lbs, couldn't see a thing. I think the 206 can do 5 but it's going to be a bit slow, 6 only if all are under 200.

Great work by all and nothing like a good challenge!!

See, Brad? Time for heads and a prop!

I agree, CQ- the 206 should pull 5. I believe my dad has pulled 3 behind his 196 and had a bunch of throttle left. A pylon/tower would help a bit too, I think.

Id still like to try 6 behind my boat- I just need to find the bodies!

Would be a pretty cool comparison to pull the same line up of skiers behind your boat, Tim and Keith's boat too.

Tim- I'll just clean up the points, bump the timing a couple degrees and get some 93 octane- we'll be fine.

Ken,

I tried buying a python in the beginning of August. That deal didn't work out do to the owner not being honest about the condition of the boat. I just went and looked at a 2000 air with the python in it this morning. Boat checked out and road good. Will be picking up on thursday when the guy gets back from Vegas. The lady at the bank was not in today, plus she could not have the paper work done on such short notice. So I only have one python.

Are you going to pack for the drive to Whitmore Lake. That has to be 20 miles, round trip
Can't wait to see it.

Hopefully next summer, havn't made it back east in a few years now, that's where it all started for me!

Congratulations on your purchase, James. You're bringing it to GL next year, right? You have a loving and understanding wife to let you keep the BFN too. Bless her heart.

Ken, my wife said to tell you thanks for your wonderful comments. She is wondeful, but I know keeping both will cost me something down the road. I was going to ask the group which boat they want me to bring next year to GL? But we will leave to wait until closer to GL.

Heyy tull, Ive been to hidden lake before to watch some ski shows. One of the guys on the Skibees wanted me as a double base skier for the pyrimids but i dont live there so that wouldent work. Id love to slalom on that lake. My lake(chapman) is about 5 minutes from there.
