1978 Correct Craft Fish Nautique 23 w/ 2021 Marine Power 5.7L Engine
For sale is a 23’ 1978 Correct Craft, Fish Nautique, direct drive/ straight inboard powered by a 2021 fresh water-cooled Marine Power 5.7 liter L31 HD, 350ci engine. Nice tandem Venture trailer is included. The engine was installed in July of 2021 and has new aluminum risers and manifolds. Engine has been properly put into service. The boat currently has 15 hours on the motor. Rebuilt starter in 2021. The up includes a quick flush system for easy flushing of the exhaust risers even when the boat is in the water. The helm has switches for all systems and fish finder and chart plotter along with a custom canvas cover for protection when the boat is not in use. The T-top has a three-sided isinglass enclosure that can be switched to mount to the gunwales for choppier days. Optional Bimini top that gives shade to the front. New items feature auto bilge pumps, Jabsco water pump, new rudder and shaft packing. Also installed is a newly required safety kill switch. Two USB charging ports and 12v charging port. New Bluetooth Stereo with USB connection in 2020. New zincs in 2021.
Only non-ethanol fuel has been used in this engine and she holds 70 gallons.
The boat is in great shape with fresh bottom paint in 2021. It has a teak swim platform and all other wood was switched over to Starboard several years ago for easy maintenance. There are two fish/ storage boxes in the deck forward of the console and an anchor line locker forward with a pulpit for an anchor. There are 8 gunwale mounted rod holders and 10 rocker launcher rod holders, 6 being on the t-top.
Fish Nautiques are known for their superior ride given the engine weight is in the middle of the boat. Later model Fish Nautiques have the fuel tanks under the deck of the boat, exposing them to moisture and corrosion. Early model Fish’s like this one have the fuel tank in the transom of the boat, above the deck and waterline, keeping them high and dry.
Trailer was redone with disc brakes and new running gear by Bob’s Boat Trailers in Norfolk, VA in 2018. Yeti coolers & cushions do not convey. Anchor & line do not convey.
