"Killing Time" is a 1969 Ski Nautique resto mod. Engine, transmission and trailer have all been rebuilt and freshened up. Only part of project I did not tackle myself was the velvet drive (local Nautique dealer rebuilt it). Every piece of wood in boat was replaced, coated in CPES and encapsulated in Numerous layers of fiberglass. The stringers are Kiln Dried, vertical grain Douglas fir. The spray rails were cut from a piece of White Oak planed to size, shaped, steam bent and then were also treated in numerous coats of cpes. I then finished them with numerous coats of spar varnish. They are screwed from the inside of boat through the backers and bedded in 3m 5200. The swim platform was added from a parted out 79 SN. The platform brackets are through bolted and have white oak backers glassed to transom for extra support. The flooring is nautolex glued over CPES treated ply. Little less than 5 years to get her back on the water but I have no regrets and would do it again.
