I am the third owner of this 1971 Ski Nautique. It went through a full restoration in 2004-2005. This was my first restoration and now I have restored more boats since then. Some friends of ours are the original owners. They sold the boat to another friend of mine in the late 80's. I bought it from him in 2004.

The boat at that time was in "worn out" condition. I completely stripped it down to the bare hull. New stringers and floor were installed. The hull had been painted a baby blue color in emron. That had to go!! It was sanded off and the red gel was in such bad shape I was faced with regeling or painting. Gel was not in my budget so I opted for paint. The deck was in bad enough shape it had to be painted as well. There were many holes to be covered from screw size to glove box and radio size. I brought this boat back to original with a few subtle characteristics unique to it's history.

This boat was highly visible to all on our lake (Lake Mitchell) back in it day because at that time there were not many inboard ski boats on the water. In fact, this is the second oldest Ski Nautique on our lake and the oldest is a 1964 model. My father owns it. The original owner of this boat is also the original owner of the 1964. Our lake has a deep history with Correct Craft. There are over 200 of them on our lake. The lake is small. It is less than 15 miles between the dams on the Coosa River.

The bottom picture is the original owner (hand on post), second owner in middle, and me far left.

On March 29, I had a boathouse fire and lost 4 boats. This boat was one of them. Sad.
