As an alternative unless you're just totally into originality or something, lots of people around here have swapped to a spin on type filter setup like what's in the link below and then use throwaway filters just like you do with your oil filter.
CC even thought it was a good idea and switched over the years
![]() link to kit link to replacement filters They're available from different companies with different names and prices but the links are a good example with decent prices The replacement filters can be cross referenced to a whole bunch of other brands and are easily available most anywhere including your local auto parts store

The Fram fuel/water separator was talked about earlier this
year here. Even though I’m all about staying original as much as possible, some
things just need to be changed out. Always dislike changing out the filter due
to spilling gas each and every time. So,
I bought the Sierra this past spring and has been sitting on my shelf for one
of my winter projects |
