Dan
Maybe you need to start a new thread about these boats/parts being for sale and mention their location in Ohio. I think they're in or near Cleveland. It'll get more people's attention that way

1000 for both to ccf member.
Sell the engine cradle and pylon from the 96 pays the gas for 2 pickups to tow these home. Then you have the windshield, gauges, all the hardware and underwater gear and the trailer. plus an intact 84 nautique on it's own trailer. On the 84, i'm calling boat angel this morning, called vehicles for veterans yesterday, should here from them by tomorrow. Rather fire sale than donate as it has zero write off for me, and pay to scrapthe 96 when at the very least it's a free yard ornament for a boat shop or something. Stripping the 96 starts this weekend and republic waste wants 250 bucks to landfill the hull then i'm stuck with the trailer to sell. When someone buys a boat off a lift and needs a trailer you'll get 3 grand. I would but have no place to store. |

No problem at all appreciate you looking. Let me make it easy, the 1984 as pictured, running on the trailer for 1000 united states dollars.
Boat is titled in my name, trailer is registered in my name and the trailer is registered as a correct craft not some homemade b.s. |

That Really is the Best place it could go, he asked about the color months ago and yes it's grey.
He did ask about glass thickness and i figure if someone wanted to pull a mold off these stringers then scrap the hull, sell the trailer it would pay you back. That guy Really can put a Boat together and the 84 has no missing parts, is it's own template for a rebuild. I changed my facebook location but marketplace is still showing florida, ugh effin nonsense to get listings up. I don't want them to go, they have to go. Thanks. |

Well, That's kinda a Real Bummer for you Dan
I vaguely remember an e mail with someone last fall where it was mentioned that he was looking for an 82,83,84 SN with the main hull color being white. Yours looks pretty white (I'm guessing it's taffy ivory which was the most white hull color in those years). It was for some kind of project and I can't remember if he cared about stringer condition or not This Really might Be something that he might be interested in He was also pretty interested in your photos of how the 96 in this thread was built too. I can't remember his initials, but They're Really close to Being on the tip of my tongue ![]() I suppose he'll get in touch with you id he's interested in a relatively short drive to NE Ohio. PS........keep the pitot's. They're a good match for your speedos .

I have to part sell and scrap both boats and trailers.
The 84 i would really like to see it go as is and get rebuilt as it is intact complete and running on an original correct craft prop gaurd trailer. With all the original brochures, manuals etc.. It has 3 new tires, new hubs amd bearings and we can start and run the engine. 2400 bucks plus the new rubber is what it cost me, it is in tow cross country condition. make me a reasonable offer. The 96 pains me the most it will be stripped landfilled and the trailer, a 2006 eagle prop gaurd trailer made for that hull is in tow cross country condition with 3 new tires and new bearings. I paid 3000 for it, woulda made a great resto mod. Make me an honest offer on all, part or just the trailer. The trailers are worth 2500 bucks each 3500 bucks when you need one, the hardware windshields, dash, gauges, running gear engine cradles pylons, a complete engine and bw trans they all sell, if you buy and part you won't lose. Both hulls and trailers are titled and registered in my name. Spread the word, Help me keep both these hulls out of the dump and trailers and parts from the recyclers. Personal reasons, long term plan change and not likely to reverse by june. winter storage location was always a temporary thing. Keno text or pm your full address so i can send your speedo's back. Speedo pick ups not the bright red french riviera banana hammock some of you guys are picturing. |

I am also intimately familiar of both the cost to operate and maintain those hotrods as well.
Some people have it backwards, the car boat bike and stuff are expendable wear items whereas i want all my cars boats bikes and stuff to last forever, the hotrod ! Well another one will be along anytime, the whole streetcar theory. ![]() Packed like this, maybe 180 with the 84 windshield on the observor side to center it more. |

I may not know much about much, but i sure as hell know about hot rods ![]() 200 feet of bubble wrap 3-4 layers with build up on the corners. Thinking they get loaded hugging the engine box in 84 and bungee'd in place ? I'm wide open for suggestions. |

Pulled plugs and fogged, i've seen this rust under 7 and 2 exhaust before 2 is really crusty.
There is no water in the oil hope these aren't cracks that only act up under load. For info; each exhaust manifold took 40 ounces of 50/50 before exiting the riser. The block took 2 gallons, it's slowly dripping from the sea pump. Poured 16 ounces down strainer and down trans cooler before connecting hoses. Bought surface shield and the can stop spraying, that's aggravating. Soaked 3 rags in 30 weight oil, stuffed 1 in each riser and 1 in flame arrestor. I see how the mufflers might not need winterizing and since i was all greasy dirty oily the exhaust hoses were removed. Every hose is shot on the engine. The ski locker sides finally got removed and the port floor is popped but not the starboard. Since it's getting towed thought it best to re assemble the t stat housing and hoses Don't think i missed anything fingers crossed. rebuild begins spring 2026. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

You betcha, that filter was only to stop anything getting into the carb from the lawn and garden tank. I do have uscg fuel line to cap off the pump.
I did use all uscg on the 79, this fuel filter/line set up was a temp thing. The line from the boat tank is removed, all cracked and not flexible. Thanks. |

Sounds good to me.
I'd put a capped fuel line back on the pump, but toss that plastic fuel filter in the trash so you can never use it again. They don't exactly meet USCG regs or resist fire very well at all. ![]() And make sure it's USCG certified rubber hose or chuck that too. You probably went through all this with the 79 project.

Ran it again today no vac, multi or timimg, just ran it. Bump the key it started cold, idled nice and when up to temp it hit strong when throttle blipped. Two thumbs up !
Fogged it to stall., pulled coil wire cranked and fogged another 5- 6 seconds. I will pull plugs, fog crank and re install plugs prior to 50/50 but first. Disconnect the hoses and drained them. removed the thermostat, removed the block, y pipe, and manifold plugs. Well both manifold plugs busted, port came out starboard is in there. They soaked with blaster overnight. Block drained, y pipe drained port manifold drained. I cranked the bow down and re pulled the starboard block drain and more came out. I flushed, poked and vacuumed every drain, vacuumed the starboard manifold, vacuumed the hoses, i am confident she is dry. Drained bowls, loosened hard gas line from pump. Ready to pull plugs fog, crank fog some more and put the plugs back in before 50/50. My opinion on the manifold plug, yes i coud pull riser drill it out and drain it and bust out plug. Yes could remove manifold and do that too. Believe best bet is fill it 50/50 stuff oil rag in riser and call it good until the time comes. (Oil rags in all 3 holes ) So re install plugs and hoses, pour 50/50 into t stat, down sea pump hose to trans cooler and reconnect, down manifold hoses and reconnect hoses. What'd i miss and or do wrong. Should i put capped fuel line on pump (pictured) Thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've has quite a few times in the last few weeks or so where if CCF was any faster loading, it might be able to be called slow.
![]() Any other website loaded just fine but CCF took forever I'd call it a problem on CCF's end |

First time i clicked on the link it took a whild to load. The past week I have had a few days when CCF was pretty slow at loading web pages? seems OK today. I have pretty good internet connection with 100 Mbps. Maybe Dan has slower download speed or a browser checker bloccking it???

Thanks keno,
It does have a clip down prestolite distributor. There is a ssticker on the port valve cover that's just legible with timing, timing rpm, idle rpm max rpm and other info as well. I turned the engine by wrench until the timing marks came up and started sanding, soon as the orange popped thru i stopped and thought maybe it was factory. Hopefully petronix still carries the parts to replace the electronic ignition for that style. There was what i thought to be quite a bit of water in that tank and wonder if the locking cap leaks, or what could it be ? (I don't know why but every link you post doesn't open for me) some do on other members threads but not mine ! ![]() ![]() |

The timing mark at 6 degrees BTDC means that somebody timed it per the PCM manual.
![]() A Prestolite distributor with a clip down cap which was what came on your 84 had an initial spec of 6 The later screwdown cap distributor had an initial spec of 10 degrees BTDC. Lots of similarity between the 2, but the advance springs, flyweights and advance limiter were slightly different Link to manual see page 9 |
