Well I bought a '97 Sport a couple of months ago and have been enjoying converting it over to wakeboarding duties. I've added about 550lbs lead, 3 fat sacs and am in thr process of generally tidying the boat up. Been having a great time out on the water too.
Well on Sunday I was mountain biking (my other passion) when I came off on a local downhill track. I managed to fracture one vertibrae and smash up 2 MC's in my hand - by the time I am fit the season will be long over........
Anybody having a worse day than me??

provided you have a heater and a good wetsuit, the season can go on as far as the end of Oct - in other words just before the first frosts.
The popularity of wake specific boats is increasing rapidly, Mastercraft still have the market but CC, Malibu and others are picking up fast as they are much more affordable, especially used boats.

Bad news AC. Especially as I'm hoping for an indian summer this year.
Whereabouts in the UK are you? My last session last year was towards the end of November - and wasn't that cold esp as it was a 6am dawn patrol to catch the tide. The guys I was out with ride all winter pretty much. I give up and go over to sailing bigger boats so I can stay a bit drier.
I was up at loch ken at the weekend and I think that was colder than the river in November. it made windermere feel like a hot bath anyway.
Good luck with the recovery.

tomski, Loch Ken is a hot tub..... (compared to Loch Lomond that is). I think I boarded in my summer suit twice this year, I prefer the winter suit as you stay warm when out the water hanging around on the boat. can somebody tell me how to post pics, I'm sure I've got some nice photo's of the loch and the hills...

AC, at the top of this "Off Topic" section is a thread called "How to post pics using Photobucket". You need to open a Photobucket account but it's free and you just follow those instructions in that thread. It's pretty easy.

I had a UFC style ( so I thought ) rear naked choke on my 240lb friend after way too many crown & coke's..... he pushed off of the counter backwards, I tripped and pulled him on top of me and my back hit the other side of the granite counter top with him on top, thus squishing me and breaking 3 ribs in my back.
Nothing like a trip to the ER wasted........

Nice pic - Lomond is a fit bit of water!
Hoped to get up there this year but it hasn't happened.
I've pretty much used my winter wetsuit all year too, used long summer suit once and went in boardies once - to prove to a soft mate that it wasn't that cold, actually it was that cold!

My sister the nurse used to tell me ER stories like yours. I might have left out the part about "rear naked choke" but I admire your honesty.
Do hope ya get better fast. Maybe fewer Crowns and Coke next time!
