if you take an ounce of gold and put it away, chances are it will be worth more when you pull it out of your safe a year later, lately if you put a hundered dollar bill in there and pull it out it will trade for less of what it wouldve a year earlier, unlike gold or any precious metal, the reason gold is spiking is because it takes more of these hundred dollar bills to trade for it....golds up, the dollar is devalued....currency is a means of trade, thats it.

To each his own Phil, I for one would like to see more wisdom from our leaders from whatever source it might originate, God knows they can use it. For those that believe, praying for wisdom for our leaders is not a bad thing and certainly does no harm to anyone else, it is also a completely different concept than stating a politician believes they can pray away all our problems. Obama believes he can spend away all our problems which is completely false but you support him. I still would like to know why you invest so much negative energy into something you do not believe exists. If it is nothing it should not mater. It takes something very real to get me that angry.

Don't make it sound like I'm a hard core backer of Obama because I'm not. I am not very fond of this president. I think he has bent over backwards for the conservatives. But Mr. Perry suggests that those scientists are just in it for the money. Thousands of scientists all around the WORLD are in it for the money! Yeah right!So I agree with Huntsman when he says the GOP is becoming the party of science deniers. Actually, becoming? It's been the anti-science party for a long time!

Then keep it out of public policy. If you guys did, you would never hear from us. And yes, it is very different. It only means I don't believe in your deities. That is it. I don't think you should be punished for it, nor do I think anything bad should happen to those that believe. You are ignorant to the Treaty of Tripoli.

Treaty of Tripoli. In Article 11, it states:

You are correct we are founded on the principle of religious freedom and do not dictate a religion and are free to practice without prejudeice, But we were founded by primarily christians and the declaration of independance does say this, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights" They certainly were not trying to keep faith out of government. Of course it may be wrong of me to look at the founding documents, rather than an obscure treaty, when looking at the founders intentions.
