A friend has a 91 ski nautique on which the steering is pretty heavy. I assume it needs a new cable but first is there any grease nipples on the stuffing box that could do with a squeeze?

Does anyone know what the cable length should be as I can't find any numbers on the cable itself.

The steering is a rotary cable/helm. Most tournament boats I've experienced use rack steering so perhaps some one had retro fitted the rotary steering seeing as rack parts are hard to come by in the UK.

Any help appreciated.

CC uses special cables, so youre best off going to a dealer. A generic cable will cause you to lose turning radius and be the incorrect length.

I have no idea if the '91 has a zirk, but I wouldnt bother with it anyways. Most dont have them.

No idea if shipping is worthwhile, but heres the correct cable from White Lake: 1991-1992 Steering Cable
