Any thoughts on this? Finally put the Skylark up for hibernation 10-22-08.Was 49 degrees this morn! I'd never make it up north! Upon tearing down my RWP, a Sherwood, I found a hole, about 3/16" deep! Any concerns you think? It's on the front side, the pulley side

That's weird. I would have it brazed/welded whateever they do to brass. Are you going to change the seal kit?

Nothing's leaking. What do you think? Do they still make a rebuild kit for this style? 6/21/1965 Build date.Or would it just be a take apart and take to our local bearings seal shop,Shawn Products I think. Although we could probally get one, I work for CarQuest. The bushing is cracked on my backplate too but I think it's OK. I've only changed the impeller 2 times since 1970! the first time was in the late 80's when the first one came apart. The 2nd one was 2006.It only had 2 vanes missing. Yes I have been finding pieces every now and then in exhaust drains ,end caps, etc.

depco pumps will have the parts for it, as for the hole a little silfos will close that up, or for that matter probably a little epoxy stick

It looks like a small casting flaw, if it doesn't leak, I'd leave it alone. If it does leak I would either soft solder of epoxy it. All parts for Sherwood pumps should still be available.

You can still get the seal kit.

the bearing is nothing special, just standard size, it's actually the same as a throw out bearing for a car, you can get it at napa.

The graphite bushing is availible too.
