Hi,
Does anyone know how much current the typical horn on a 1989 (or similar) Ski Nautique draws? I need to replace the switch, and I don't want to order the original as I am in South Africa. Thanks, Greg |

Greg,
3 to 5 amps for the small electrics. Depends on the manufacturer. Most momentary switchs can handle that. If some one has put a larger horn on the boat such as a dual horn trumpet, they can go up to 20 amps and then a relay is needed. |

Excellent, thanks very much. That will make sourcing a replacement switch much easier.

Greg,
I ordered a new horn swith and misc parts from the States to Johannesburg. Busy restoring an '89 as well. Must say service is excellent and well worth fitting original parts. |
