Forward is a 1939 Chris Craft Deluxe Runabout. Upside down is a 1949 Chris Craft Rocket To the right is a 1959 Chris Craft Capri.  |

Here's one from the 80's
1953 Chris Craft Riviera. Anyone recognize anything two slips over? (hint) it's a Inca Gold Torino w/ a Jet Drive. Behind the Torino is an Inca Gold Southwind 20 w/ the convertible top up.  |

Pete, Calendar's open. I don't really favor any particular varnish over another. I do however dislike Interlux. A high quality (Badger) brush, on the otherhand is a major key. And apply every single coat as if it were the final coat. Not only is it a good practice, but it also saves some time during the sanding of every coat.

Pete, It actually did. Years ago, a co-worker started calling me Doctor Correct Craft. So, when I joined here in 04, I was trying to come up with a user name. My wife yelled from the other room, "DrCC, Duh!"

When I was a kid vacationing in NH, they would roar around the lakes. Special talent to have and take care of those babies! Where are you from? I've got a buddy who restores Lymans like that, you two could talk for weeks on end. |

Lymans are expensive. My entry into project boats was looking for a 15' Lyman outboard for a couple years. You can buy a decent Correct Craft project boat for less money than one of those 15' Lymans without an engine!
I won a 15' Lyman on ebay with an original trailer ($500). Seller was selling for a friend and said he didn't know much about boats, but it appeared in good condition. We went to pick it up and it was firewood. They seem to go for $2500-$3500. No brainer to me what kind of boat I'm buying for $2500-$3500, not a Lyman outboard. |

Bruce, serves you right for looking at something other than an inboard. But then if that deal had worked out, we'd probably never met you. Lyman's weren't always that expensive, but I've seen them go up over the years. We've got a '61 Lyman 21', which I just can't seem to wrap up and it's been 7yrs now.
Nauti84, while I love that Lyman you attached, that center console is really, really nice IMO. Al, I really hope to meet you some day. Amazing stuff. |

Nauti84, Beautiful boats! I haven't seen any Lymans on this lake. They seem to be popular in the New England states. They do appear to be higher quality than the lap strakes here.
