Hello,

Please allow me to introduce myself. I am new to the forum and new to Correct Craft ownership, having just purchased a 1988 23' Fish Nautique. I will be keeping the boat in the water behind my home in Fort Lauderdale. I need to bottom paint the boat and now need to know if Correct Craft used vinylester resin to build these boats back in 1988. If not, I've been avised that I need an epoxy barrier coat under any bottom paint.

Any and all advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I believe CC switched to vinylester (AME4000) in 1989. Prior to that they used polyester. Regardless, the gelcoat will be polyester.

Hobby Boats can be expensive when the hobbyist is limited on their own skill and expertise.
