92 Nautique Open Bow Upholstery

I know this site is sponsored by Christine's upholstery, but had to share my experience with another company based out of Orlando- CopyCat Covers. I shopped around for an entire set of new skins to re-upholster my entire boat this winter and opted for CopyCat Covers over Christine's Nautique Skins initially for only one reason- PRICE. CopyCat came in so far under in price that there was no comparison.
As for my experience with them- I could not compliment their workmanship, quality, or exceptional customer service enough. They also offer a wonderful warranty. So, I removed all my old upholstery skins, boxed them up and shipped them off. Within 2 weeks, I had all my brand new skins and they are beautiful!! Not only do they look great, but went on very nice as well. I have ZERO experience in upholstery work, so I purchased an air stapler to run off my compressors and off I went. Although time consuming, I finished installing all the skins within a week, just working on them in the evenings. To see the results as you go is addicting. I even messed up a couple of pieces and CopyCat shipped me out replacements immediately with no questions asked.
Bottom line, I just wanted to share my wonderful experience with CopyCat Covers. They are very reasonable on price and do beautiful work. Please see some pics posted that shows off my brand-new 92!!

The new vinyl is a marine grade vinyl and has a 5 year unlimited warranty- even the stitching and embriodery fall under the warranty. I would say the material quality is better than the original factory- at least compared to what was available back in 1992.

Have to say not seeing the same quality one gets with Copy Cat vs Christines. We just had a run around with Copy cat, My customer decided to forgo getting skins from Christines and ordered a set in late July from Copy Cat he did not see anything until late Sept and they were really wrong and very poor workmanship. He then sent them back with the original oem skins and got a set back two weeks later that fit very poorly and stripe lines were inconsistant as was the stiching. They all got installed anyway as he wanted to use his boat for the rest of the available season except the observers seat skin as it would not fit on the substrait panel got a skin built locally. My customer has called many times for support from copy cat but has recieved no response and even sent pictures of the mess. I know their have been some sucess stories with Copy Cat but I will not encourage any of my customers to utilize them.
My advise is to step up and pay what Christines gets for their products you will be much happier in the long run.

I really respect your opinion Jody and know all about quality but for almost half (even a third) the price of Christine's, I could afford to have skins from Copycat profesionally installed and still be ahead. The cost benefit ratio seems to be well in favor of Copycat but I will continue to investigate options.

Im trying to take the captains seat apart and do not know how to remove the back rest part. How did you remove your skins?

i have a 99 sport nautique and it looks like there is an alumnium bar on both sides of the back rest when i pry apart the seat from the back rest and look down with a flashlight. I felt under the skin where it looks like it attaches and there is no bolts on the opposite side.

Hello I have the same boat but a 93 and getting ready to reupholster the boat. I think I'm going to go. With copy cat as well. Did you replace the carpet as well? If so where did you get it from? Also how did you remove the bow panels was that hard? Thanks
