I was a real sKeptic, in fact I thought they looked dangerous till I spent some time with Andre, Chuck, and Nolan of Barefoot Central teaching kids to barefoot at a local YMCA camp. Needless to say, I have one now. Great teaching aid.

So what happens if somebody lets go of the boom. Everywhere I read it says....tell your skier to not let go of the boom!!

Realy there is no pull from the arms so it won't be a matter of trying to hang on. If they did let go, they would fall out of the swing. The boat speeds are so much slower so it is far less intimidating. I'll see if I can find a video of someone letting go.

How do you guarantee that they do not slide out the front of the swing and get their head caught in the "V" of the rope?

I think its a great idea....however the liability of putting it on my boat is huge.

When there is a boat, vehicle, mechnizism involved there is never any gaurantee. What is there to gaurantee that anyone skiing does not fall and get their arm or worse thier neck caught in the handle. It happens more often than you think and poses an even greater danger to children, yet no one ever thinks about that. Use good judgement and common sence and you'll be just fine

Falling in the handle is bad so lets climb in it from the start? Not interested.

So whats your point?

If it can happen it will.

My judgement says never let the swing in or on my boat.

My point was, you would let your kids ski with regular ski rope and handle, yet dozens of people are seriously injured each year when caught in them. I'm am not pushing BI's product, but I'm not scared of flyingin a plane either when I'm more likely to get killed driving down the block. I would think that if some of the best instructors and drivers use and reccomend them as a teaching aid then I personally would try using one. If for any reason you fell uncomfortable using it or anyother product, than by all means don't use it. You originally asked for opinions and I provided you with one. Don't shoot the messenger.

Dude !??!      Insurance doesn't cover your conscience.... when you have someone on your boat, don't you want their experience to be the safest most enjoyable time you can provide.... especially if it's your own family and friends....

I don't care how good of boat driver you are, it is impossible to react that fast.

Yes....if/when I have kids they will be able to hold onto the handle. If they want to barefoot that can hang on the boom or sit on the kneeboard.

Hollywood hit the nail on the head.
