I was looking at a table saw from a privet party. I asked if he had anything else. He showed me this 6 cyl engine he said it was out of an old Chris Craft boat. It looks to have the block, head, crank, oil pan and carbs not sure about anything else. Here are some pics. Let me know if you are interested in any part. It will get scrapped by next month if it doesn't sell.

Hi Michael it looks to me that its a straight 8 cyl I could use the carbs if he will sell separately.

I get the feeling the guy really doesn't know what the engine is. First off, it's not out of a Chris and it's not a Chris marinization! Whenever anyone doesn't know anything about a old wood boat or a old marine engine, they always refer to it as a Chris Craft!!
![]() I couldn't ID the engine so I forwarded this thread to a friend who makes his living rebuilding old marine engines. He doesn't know what it is ether but did say the block and head look like a old Packard engine. I feel it's probably a DIY marinization. Unless he gets real lucky, it's ether scrap iron or a anchor! Kap, Thanks for posting the pictures. Michael, What table saw were you looking at? |

You are right I dont know anything about the engine and the owner knows even less. I only posted it because I know you guys are in to the older stuff and I thought somebody might be looking for it. The owner is planning on scrapping it. So I'm sure it could be had very cheap. I bought a Makita portable table saw from him for 100 dollars If anybody is interested you can call Dwayne at 678-617-2671 he is in Gainesville Georgia. I am going to the White Lake mini I would be willing to deliver to there if needed. |
