I have an 86 ski nautique and just finished building a replacement piece for the tray/glove box which will now hold a radio. My dash is chalky looking and faded so I am wondering what it was originally, flat black or gloss.

Gloss from factory. Some wetsanding and polishing should bring it back to life.
