How can the tea party be so effective at congressional races and so bad at presidential elections. I am not excited about where things are going. The conservatives in the republican party are being killed by our own success and our dedication to certain but different principles. We have so many conservatives running that they are splitting the vote. This is complicated by one issue conservatives who support the pro life guy or the fiscal guy or the libertarian. Since we do not have a dominant candidate like a Regan who can articulate and sell conservatism, we will get stuck with a RINO like Romney. He would be better than Obama, but I am not sure he is different enough to win over the middle and the republican base will not show up in numbers for a lack luster candidate. We will end up with another Dole or McCain like candidate who can't get the job done.

Any of them are much better than what we have now. I am leaning towards Newt. By far the smartest guy in the room. I think he could handle the Billion dollar attack BO will be launching on the Rep candidate and maybe start to turn this country around.

My theory on this election cycle is that the democrats are helping Romney win the nomination. Why? Because he is the canidate they feel they can beat in a general election. They are scared of Gingrich, Sanatorum is too politically inexpeirienced to carry through to nomination. They are giving Ron Paul enough support to break away and split the independent/republican vot assuring an Obama win.
They are manipulating the mainstreem media and scoring the primaries before they happpen guiding the course of results. When Gingrich stays focused his knowledge and ability to think on the spot and answer any qustion propel him ahead. When conered and attacked he goes wild and gets careless which is scarey to many. Romney and Paul have some big money giving them large support teams which keep them a threat. The policies and flips of Romney along with different statistic every time he speaks are his downfall. Ron Paul (who wasn't allowed to debate last cycle) has some off beat foreign policies that are unacceptable. Add to this the democrats, playing race card, manipulating and distortiing Obama's record to a positive flavor, and ommitting anything that could harm him are going to make this a tough election. |

Didn't they leave with Pawlenty. No I mean, Bachman, no no no, I mean Cain. Maybe even followed Perry to Texas. I really think they might be defending Shreiff Joe Arpio in Arizona, but I don't know for sure.
They were bought and paid for like any interest group. It was never about changing the system, it was a gimic and a ploy to regain power. It worked and are the latest example of a group that was used for the benefit of the new breed of Republican. You don’t like this do you? The establishment of the republican party has used them for what it designed for, to be scare up the vote for an establishment candidate. They knew then and now that they never were going to allow a so-called tea party candidate win the nomination. Gingrich is running away with the GOP nomination??? This crook, philanderer, liar, and cheat! This man has been the king of government money with his consulting schemes on Wall Street. Yet, the tea party faithful and all those other republicans will support him. |

Who bought and paid for the Tea Party? I know I did not get my check. For a guy who has gone to great lengths trying to break the stereotypes associated with the occupy movement you are quick to label the Tea Party. The republican establishment has little love for the Tea Party. The right does not have a billionaire crook like George Sorros to fund the tea party, it is truly a grass roots group with little to no leadership. On that topic, how come we never hear about George when you bring up the "rich". He is evil, and destroys people and countries for his own enrichment. He is the biggest example of someone funding a movement and using its participants for personal gain. Oh yea, he advises Barrack, including meeting with him right before the US poured millions into Brazil's oil drilling industry, an industry George is a big investor in. |

Dave, It is what it is. A gimic and a ploy. There isn't a check, well not for you anyway. And I just don't see how you can say the "establishment" has no love for the tea party, sympathy is borderline "love". How many tea party juniors were elected, and now on the way out? I can think of 16 right now, and there job was just to get elected, sympathize, and vote the "right" way. Tools really. So where are they? How could it just disappear as quick as it rolled in? Good question, and I think you may just have your answer if you would just look. You can compare it to OWS. And maybe you are spot on it might be too early to tell. I can compare our situation to Chile, Argentina, and even the UK, and while the Tea party was simaler to the Junta, OWS is would be the opposite of the Tea Party, by definition. I have said it before, the Tea party, on the lower levels was stumping against the best interest of themselves and the country. As far a Soros, if you are right about him, why is it we do not hear about him? Likely answer will be something to do with the "vast left wing media", which I cannot even begin to understand. Soros, in my opinion should be subject to the exact same regulations as the rest of us, including Norquest. |

Dave if you really think the "right" does not have a billionaire to fund there interests you have a serious case of only seeing what you want.

Dave,
Since you are a tea party member, then you should be able to see the correlation to the early days of the tea party and the OWS movement. |
