Well while I'm waiting around on the coupler and prop shaft issue to fix itself, I figured I'd get back to some of the other long overdue maintenance. the PO had neglected pretty much every maintenance item on the boat including even a basic level of teak care. I've seen petrified trees that weren't as grey as this platform was. Took a very light initial sanding and then laid on 2 coats of teak oil, which it drank up like an alcoholic. You can't really see it in the pics(crappy bb camera), but I still have some peach fuzz I'll need to hit again with another sand after I let it sit for a day or so. Then I'm betting it will soak in another 2 coats maybe 3 before it'll be back to living. Once the top is done I'll flip it and do the same to the bottom.

Even after just the 2 coats the difference is night and day. The bb camera doesn't really capture the difference, but I went from a rain cloud grey weathered look, to a rich brown lumber look in a matter of hours.

Did mine as well this winter, power washing works well to clean it up.
