It's been well over a year that I have been looking for a used utility trailer. I can't believe some of the junk people post for sale on Ebay or Craigs. Rusted out trailers with 10" tires and they are looking at over 1K asking price. I came across this one off Craigs and within a couple blocks of work. It's a 5x8 but it has a 3500lb. axle plus a wood deck. Perfect for hauling my woodworking equipment up north. It also has the "A" frame tongue and not the single one you commonly see. The seller bought it in Texas to haul a bike back so it has pretty low mileage. The only problem is the seller bought it with used automotive tires. When looking at new trailers, I found this to be a common option with used tires. Well there still is some tread left on the tires but, I'm going to need to buy $300 (spare too) of tires soon.

Excellent Pete!
I love the 5x8 we have. It too has a HD axle and A frame. We haul our Kawasaki Mule all over on it. The size is an easy one to store and spot when not in use. Congrats! |

I was hoping you meant the job search.
Looks like a real sturdy 5x8. Does it have the back fold down gate/ramp? |

Craig, No on the fold down gate and no on ramps. The guy went cheap but it doesn't bother me. All my loading (the woodworking equipment) will be done with the engine hoist anyway. If needed. the brackets are welded on the back end for ramps so if I needed to drive something on the trailer like my garden tractor, it would be pretty easy to make two ramps. |
