Hi all.
I bought a 1978 ski nautique. It has the 351 commander, but only has 1 commander manifold, the other is a pcm. The engine is a mix up as well. I looked at the engine casting, and it is D2AE 6015 BA 13 2G22 What that tells me is its a 72 block for a ford galaxie. Next weird thing is that it has the proper reverse rotation firing order of 18456273. It ran fine for 5 minutes before a bad ground and a super high charge rate from the alternator blew the neverspark module, and the pickup in the dizzy or so it seems. (I replaced the spark box and the coil, but it still has no spark.....) Next on the frankenstein list is the carb which is off a 76 econoline van. So...I'm guessing it froze and cracked one manifold and the block, then they bought a short block from the wrecker and did a partial swap.... I have no way of knowing one way or the other. I guess I can go with it if I can re do the ignition with a new points dizzy, and proper carb. Then it should run. I saw a points dizzy on ebay. Its a : NOS Ford Prestolite Marine Distributor E5JL-12100-CA # 7020S - 351W Windsor. Does anyone know if that will work for me? There is no returns on it. Thanks Corey. |

I think that one will work, but maybe keep an eye on this one too:
