bent tracking fin source of noise?

Ever since I did the overhaul of the boat 4 years ago Ive been dealing with a grouling sound in the 2200-2800 rpm range, it was problable it was there prior but never noticed it or didnt pay attentio to it by then. At first I though missalligmnet, took care of that, also replaced cutlass bearing, gearbox etc. Sound still remains. Its not from the engine or driveline for sure. And its noticeable on the pylon area....
The only thing I can think is causing this is the middle fin that is bent to one side as you can see in this picture.


I would like to try and fix this, how can I get that one to alling with the others? I need to move it and work it out on the bench or I can somehow heat it and work it in place?

they are screwed to the hull and glued with some sealant, so once screws are removed I need to cut the sealant from base and work my way out to move it!
sounds simple but I guess that MF is kinda part of the hull after 20 year...
To put it back tons of 5200 and screws..Correct?

4200 is just as good for sealing purposes and has less adhesion. You dry store your boat.... I wouldn't 5200 anything that might need to come back off.

I don't remember if you foamed or not. This would determine how prudent sealing up those mounting holes would be if you did try to test run without that fin in place.

I was in a hurry to get it back on and get back on the water plus it was cheap... I'll pick up some 4200 later....Well, its been 8-9 years?

What HW said. 4200 if you want to take it off. My boat only has one straight fin. No noise anywhere but I could see it making some noise if the turbulence was just right by the time it was hitting the rear fin?

Our buddy has a story about a master craft poking a few fins up through the hull. The DNR wouldn't let them pull it out on the park lift as it was sinking so they beached it and somehow lifted it up and taped up the hull with a ton of tape. Ran it back a few miles on the lake with no leaks at about 15 mph!

They must use the silicone at Tim's work on the airframes!
