I'm looking for a very cheap trashed dash pod that I could use to make a mold out of. I have some buddies that work in aerospace and I think if I can make a decent female mold I could get a nice carbon dash pod made from scrap material for a reasonable price.

Did you ever have any success in creating a new dash pod? I recently purchased a '99 SN and am interested in a new one.

I went to the original manufacturer- and was told in 2011 CC ordered 49 of these and then the mold was destroyed. I called CC and the 49 are no where to be found. Now we had been doing this for 1990-1993 pods. 1994 and up is DIFFERNT. Manufacturer said $30,000 for a new injection mold!!!!

Look for a parts boat. May have a good dash pod on it.

If all else fails buff out the gel and go without the dash pod. Mark Daugherty from N3 Boatworks did this one his Barefoot Nautique and it looks great. I haven't seen it in person but it looks really nice from all the pictures he's posted.

Edit: Pic added

From what I've seen it looks like the SN Dash (behind the pod) would accommodate all the gauges and have a nice flat spot for phone or cup holder on either side of the helm.

Thanks - Mine isn't real bad but it is ripped on the front where the two thumb screws attach. I'll probably watch the forum or try to glass the back with some kind of cap on the front.

I still have not had any response on anyone with a "bad" one that could be used as a mold. I'm still in the hunt for one if anyone has one. . Mine is still in too good of shape to rip apart with no available replacement. I also fiber-glassed 3 of the holes and wrapped the vinyl back around after patching the pod. I had to epoxy in some pieces of material and then added glass around it for support. It is holding great and looks just fine. I am the only one who would know what is going on underneath.
