Ignition Problems???

Seems like I saw some threads about GT40 ignition issues on here but can't seem to locate them. I had some problems with my 99 SN today. I have the GT40 motor. Ran it for several hours and running great. Multiple stops and starts with no problems. On the way in I got what felt like a skip to me...then it did it again. The boat sat last year and I was thinking I just had some something in the fuel line. By the time we got to the ramp it quit. I tried for 5 mins to start but it would only fire and then immediately die. I couldn't rev the engine and keep it going at all. I thought I read about some common ignition problems with the GT40s and I'm just wondering if that sounds like whats going on? Oh, and Im also having a strange thing happening with my PP. Keeps shutting off and back on like its losing power...dont know if that could be anything but since its tied into the electrical system I was kind of curious.
