My wife Erin wrote this for me for Christmas, thought I would share it with you all.
Merry Christmas Twas the night before lake day And all through the hall TJ placed lake stuff Staked high on the wall Life Jackets, towels, And before heading to bed, He got the wakeboard, slalom, and Sofia's zip sled. All night he lay dreaming Of what was to be. Its easy to see That this guy LOVES to ski. The next morning came And whos first to rise? Not Sofia...Its TJ. Who first opens his eyes. As the truck gets packed up, He wont want to forget The bucket of cleaner To clean the boat with. TJ drives to the lake A Nautique hat on his head. As he and Sofia Sing with the "Grateful Dead". He finally arrives He is there at his place, But before he can ski There are steps he must take. He puts on his jacket, Puts "soup" in his boot, He stands and proceeds To push in his foot. He puts on his gloves, But as I throw out the rope, He sighs with disgust, Rolls his eyes and says "nope". He cannot go yet, As a tuber rolls past, A wake surfer wakes, A big boat blasts. So he waits, and he waits, And he waits some more, He's not going to settle, He's looking to score. The best water he can! Do you think he will waste The perfect opportunity 'cuz he acted in haste? The water gets still, And its finally time, He pulls himself up And cuts on a dime. It's amazing to watch him Swerve on his ski. He's graceful and quick He makes it look so easy . So, no tubers allowed, And I think TJ'd agree That a slalom skier's the best One can ever hope to be. . |

I was waiting for the part where he whistled and shouted and called the tubers names, but that probably was not fit to print here.

For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.
