Trying to bring an 85 SN back and the distributor is frozen/rusted to the block even tho cast iron and aluminum are not supposed to fuse together- tried 50/50 trans fl n marvel, beat with a cold chisel at the base - it won't move
All suggestions appreciated

Jim,
Take a look at this thread. A slide hammer was used after the soaking with the 50-50.

It's a curse of the 85's... http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=33000

When you are done, don't make the mistake I did. I slathered the new distributor in anti-seize. Worked great but next summer, I developed a bad ground which caused me a lot of pain trying to figure out my hard start issue.

I do like the idea but what grade of anti-seize did you use? The nickel rather than the off the shelf copper would have been my choice. Also, if using the anti, I suggest running a ground jumper to the distributor body.

Well after approx 9 hours total of soaking, prying, chieseling, and pounding from underneath the Dizzy,it broke loose Monday morning-The suprising part is the only thing holding it in was about an 1/8"" of surface rust on the top-shaft teeth pristine clean ????
New one ordered-will definitely get nickel anti seize.

I used nickel anti-seize. I learned to avoid copper anti-seize from working on salt water boats. I fixed it by adding a separate ground... the one that came with the electronic ignition.
