Good afternoon everyone, Research on 1973 ski nautique. Recently picked up a couple of the vent scoops for the stern from scottz. the sides of my boat are original gel coat and almost perfect. But the last owner had re sprayed the top deck due to checking. In doing so he neglected to paint large air scoop and replaced the two smaller ones with china made chrome ones. So now sitting in garage with 3 white scoops that need to magically turn blue. What color were they original all documents I see show darker color than letter on sides ? If anyone can help would be great.

Andrew,
Have you looked in the reference section at the 73 SN brochure? How about the diaries? Here's the picture in the 73 brochure: |

Andrew,
Others may know better but I suspect they were vinyl covered and not painted. |

Not vinyl covered nor paint. Should have been gel originally.

Thanks, I am going to paint them with the same lp that i did the letters on side with. Might not be gel coat But with epoxy primer and LP paint should be durable and i know will match the letters. Think it lesser of 2 evils being i cant match gel coat that well.
