I have a 1990 Sport Nautique and a 1987 Fish Nautique with Sherwood 9959 raw water pumps. In the past, I have been able to find Sierra and Jabsco replacement impellers for around $11.00 each. I can not find them at this price now. In my search I came across the Blue Globe 620 impellers. They claim they can run dry for 15 minutes, not that i would do this, and that they will not "set" to the raw water pump body.

My question, does anyone have any experience with the Blue Globe replacement impellers? They cost around $35.00. I can get Sierra impellers for around $20.00 and the Jabsco impellers for around $25.00 and the Sherwood for about the same price as the Blue Globe impellers. Are the Blue Globe impellers worth the extra money?

Thank you in advance.

No experience with the globe but wouldn't pay a premium for them. Avoid sierra. Jabsco sells impellers for Sherwood pumps? Stick with OEM, IMHO.

I'm not sure that the Globes are the old out of business Barco impellers but they sure look the same. It did take a set and the edges of the vanes kind of looked crumbly after running it- not smooth like a oem one. It worked but was nothing exciting perhaps they have improved them by now. The Sherwoods work I have not bought any for a couple of years but I got them for around 24.00. Sometimes our sponsors have a special sales

Tim, thank you for the information. If I purchase a Globe impeller I will let everyone know how they work.

Tim, the Jabsco impeller part number is 18838-001. It looks like it replaces the Sherwood 9959 impeller.

Several years ago, several of us were at the St. John's River Run in Florida and one of the group put a Sierra Impeller in this pump. The boat overheated and it ruined his day. He put in another Sierra with the same results. His person started looking at other areas for the overheating . He ruled out the impeller since he had installed two new ones. Art C. from Correct Craft was with us and he pulled out a OEM / Sherwood impeller and the overheating went away. Unfortunately, this person had missed at least one day of the fun messing with that Sierra impeller. We inspected the Sherwood and the Sierra and you could not see the difference with the naked eye. That experience proved to me that there is a difference in Aftermarket and OEM.
