Last Friday night coming home from the HD the lesmobile took another hit by a deer. This is the third time in 6 months that I hit a deer and, all three within two miles of each other. The bad this time is I needed to call for a tow because the radiator got punched out. The stretch of road is a county highway and the deer are always running across it in an open area next to potato fields. I typically see a couple dead deer on the side of the road every week. Thankfully there wasn't any mechanical damage other than the radiator otherwise my fear was State Farm would have totaled it and you never make out with the $$ when that happens. I think I need to find an alternate way to get to work!

Careful Pete, you will soon be in trouble with the Wildlife Agent for bagging your limit out of season.

When we head south in Oct/Nov I cannot believe how many are hit on the interstate. Illinois and Kentucky are the worse that we drive thru. Alligators,Pythons and Iguanas really don't bother the Avalanche

Have you considered mounting a "deer whistle" on the front bumper?

David, They don't work and it's been scientifically proven. My late father had them and he hit a deer. He too fell for the scam! Do deer whistles work? I got good news late yesterday afternoon. They are not "totaling" the lesmobile. Yes, it was close to the tune of less than $500!! So, parts were ordered and I may even get it back by the end of the week. |

The bad news is deer whistles do not work. The "lesmobile" is in the body shop for the third time. The insurance company did want to total it this time but after some negotiation, it's getting fixed. The hit was so quick I didn't even have a chance to hit the brakes!

Do you have dual deer whistles? One on port and starboard?
Sorry for the incident. Get an Outback, I love mine! |

It's not the car that's the magnet Pete, it's you
Some guys are chick magnets, some aren't You driving the lesmobile definitely doesn't fit the chick magnet mold. |

Is this an appropriate deer whistle for the cheesehead northwoods? Not one of those hack whistles from autozone? I think I seen them at HD too. We need pictures! Minus 10 points for not keeping the lesmobile original.

Todd,
Sorry to disappoint you but the whistles didn't come from Autozone or the HD. I got them off Ebay and keep in mind they don't work up here so I doubt the work in the south ether! |

Heck no, down here they’re frowned upon. Shoot when we hit them as long as the gut sack isn’t busted it’s going in the freezer.

The officer that responded asked me if I wanted the deer and I said no. I hit it so hard that I'm sure it wasn't good besides, early in the year up here, they still have worms. |

You should probably just stop wearing your deer helmet Pete.
But, if you haven't been wearing it, maybe it's time to put it back on. |

Keep it....from sinkin'
