I accidentally beached my 80 Nautique which turned the prop into a tulip. I ordered an ACME 540 13x12 R which a lot of sites seemed to list at the right replacement but it looks nothing like the prop that came off. The blades on the new are much larger and more triangular than the original rounded blades.
Does anyone know the original stock prop? From what I've seen it looks more like a federal. The only markings on the old one are "515" Thanks in advance |

Stewart,
Use the 540. You will be very happy with it's performance compared to the original. CNC machined props VS. the old cast hand worked props are the way to go. You can read all about the CNC's here. There are plenty of threads on the performance gains. Have you checked the shaft and strut? Get the dial indicator out and check the shaft especially just aft of the strut since with a prop hit, that's the place where they usually bend. No more than .003" runout is the norm. Then with the strut see is the shaft turns freely. If it doesn't turn freely, then there's a change the strut is bent but, I also suggest doing a strut/shaft engine alignment. |

Much like how your engine in your 80 and 04 look nothing like each other, props have changed radically too. You did good just put it on and enjoy.
