As part of my carpet to SeaDek conversion on my 96 Sport, I am cutting a new Coosa hatch for the rear of the boat that covers the prop shaft and muffler under the seats. 2 questions:
1) How important is that round access port hole? The whole panel is pretty easy to lift up without really needing the hole. I'd rather not re-cut it. Am I missing something in the need for it here? 2) The old panel was held in place by simple friction/pressure of the carpet that existed on both sides of the hatch with the carpet from the deck. Once the carpet is all gone, this won't be possible. Should I try to fasten the panel into place with the new setup? Thanks guys!!
