Barefoot Nautique v-drive VS Excel

   So I have an 82 SN which I have had for 5 years and really like but am looking for my next boat.  I have a lead on a Barefoot Nautique closed bow with the 454 vdrive 1991 and a 1992 Excel OB both within my current budget.  
We are a family of six, have a dock, and am basically looking for more room or at least get the rope out of the way of the back seat.  I have a Fly High which is fine but have to take it on/off with lift canopy.  I’m a skier but am not to picky about my wake, my current SN is all I know.  Is the BF v-drive or Excel OB going to solve my problem?  Anything to watch out for with either?  I’m thinking either one may be a temporary fix but as kids get bigger, invite friends ect..Am I better off waiting & saving for a Super Sport Nautique or other with wrap around seating, a different SNOB?
